Possibly the drive itself or an underrun of the memory. Once I start a burn, I leave my computer alone. If you let the buffer get down, it will cause the burn to fail.

are you sure you have dual layer disks? if it stops at 50% everytime either the disks or the drive is not dual layer.

I was wondering when some asked about if your drive is DL or not. Can you check the model number on line and see if it supports DL to make sure (just to make sure, and do not just go by what Nero says)?
Second, that link I gave you from last post does not require to to hook the xbox to the pc. It is a writing/reading program (like nero) except it is only good at backingup and writing xbox games. So give it try (if you have checked to see that your drive is DL or not).

memorex is a low quality media and often causes problems but the fact that it errors out at 50% everytime means it cannot burn the second layer. I would say if the drive ever could burn dual layer it cannot now. Just get a new burner. they can be found for 20 - 30 us dollar. not sure where your at but would still be cheap.

while googling I found a case where someone said they had this drive and used it for cd's many times and first time they tried dvd+r dl the drive would not burn. seems these are horrible drives. I saw many cases of people complaining.

yeah, you could hear the drive switch back to start the second layer at 50% but then again i was just using my laptop to burn it, so it might of been a combo of crapy dvd and weak burner, but the verbatim worked great on my laptop burner. got to the 50% mark, made that noise again to start the second layer, and i thought it wasnt gonna work, but low and behold it did. iv "backed up" about 60 games since i figured it out, no problems since.
i hope it works for you, i lucked out and radio shack was having a clearence on verbatim discs, 3 for 4$ so i thought what the heck, why not.
Good luck!
Thanks,

I have the same problem with ImgBurn. Everyone says it is the best, but all it does is produce dual layer coasters for me. I get the same invalid address crap. On the occasion that it does work, the movie pauses and/or jumps at the layer break when playing in a standalone dvd player.
I burn dual layer .iso files using DVD Decrypter, and they burn flawlessly every time. Doesn't ask me to set a layer break, doesn't ask anything. It just works, every time. This is using Ritek DL disks.
Last night ImgBurn wrecked 3 disks trying to burn a DL .iso movie file. I finally gave up, and burned the same .iso flawlessly with DVD Decrypter. Threw the disk in my standalone player, and it played perfectly. Burning with HP laptop burner GSA-4084N (LG).
I don't know if I need to change some settings in ImgBurn to get it to work?

never had any problems with img burn - but i stick to decent dual layers ie verbatims.
Re it only getting to 50% you have manually selected the layer break in the write settings to 1913760?
