It's my OEM disc that came with my 1650 from canada a couple months ago.
6.6.0.14. A very nice package. Nero Recode2/labelmaker-for my lightscribe/burning rom/express/full function disc quality scanning test of nerotool kit. A lot of great programs. These OEM discs come with/without the drive. For a couple $ more, well worth it.
I have an older version: 6.0.0.21 oem and it was a very good version.Rip and burn on the fly-no coasters with over 300+. This version, nero's disc quality scanning test was grayed out.
I also have nero 6.3.?.? oem on another pc,and perfect backups.I got that one for my dad's old pc through ebay for $4 a year ago. He's got no room for it,so I made room for it.

@zebadee
nice scans you got there, unfortunately for me, i no longer have any more MCC004 16x rated DVD+R discs anymore (Verbatim branded) here in the U.S., it's just a personal preference for me as i prefer Taiyo Yuden; however, i have recently tried burning even faster than my usual @8x on my YUDEN000T03s, with VERY similar results as you are getting with your MCC004s :) it seems that this Benq 1650 w/ BCHC with all the features enabled (mine are pretty much the same as yours) it produces outstanding results at 12x and even 16x :)
i've been pretty set for the most part to burn all my media i currently use @8x, but based on these new trials that i have done, i might be "stepping it up" a bit like you :) your scans only confirm the potential of BCHC firmware on MY system, while you may have more programs/software used on your setup and your flashing experience far exceeds my own, i feel my limited trials on MY setup is a good indication that OUR setups/results are fairly consistent~ :)
just a FYI, as noted in your MCC004 scans, the YUDEN000T03s quality is right up there with your Mitsubishi Chemical Corp produced discs, i've been getting consistent 97-99 burning faster (ie. 8x+ or more specifically 12x and 16x) on TYs 16x rated DVD+R too~ we all have our own preferences for media, to each his own, just wanted to let others that use TY media that i DO recommend TY's 16x DVD+R media for the Benq 1650 with BCHC firmware too~
thanks again for providing the PROOF that with Benq drives on QUALITY MEDIA, there is NO need to burn @4x or slower...

yeah, my setup doesn't seem to be up to 16x, though saying that i only did one or maybe two at 16x. I am however a true 8x convert, i never burn lower than 8x now. And my most common way of burning is now with Nero's Multiple Recorders feature, top banana; i too have virtually no MCC004 left as i sent a few hundred back to the supplier after the odd blip i had with them. No loss as i have more than enough TYG02 and YUDEN000T03's to keep me going for a while. Have done a fair few burns lately to TYG02 and YUDEN000T03 but not worth posting any more scans as they're just top notch :)

Hi,
Just a few lines. Thanks folks for the compliments.
One of the things I've noticed recently,if SB is enabled. Writing @ 4x is unhealthy if 16x media is being used. I had to reflash my drive to 'wake it up' after my trial @ different speeds (I wrote @ 16x then 12 x 8x & finally 4x). MCC 03EG20/MCC 004 appear to support 4x 8x 12x 16x strategies quite well, when SB is disabled.
The quality/consistancy of this media lately is however questionable. I myself am migrating to Taiyo Yuden.
Write speeds are dependant on system (a fact most are aware of). If top notch you may be able to write @ 16x not only with 16x media. But TY 8x media can yield surprising results in this area.
For most of us 12x is probably gonna give the best speed/quality burns. I know a lot of folks see 8x as the one when it comes to quality. But take a look at my scans & @ 8x both PIE/PIF are very high in comparison. So it could pay to experiement for yourself in this respect.

Hi.
Just a few scans with TYG02 8x unbranded. Again SB/OS/WOPC enabled for all media. As writing @ 4x gave me problems last time, I've excluded it. So only 8x 12x & 16x this time.
Obviously in this case the results differ. This is down to both the fact different media, but also medias' speed rating. The interesting thing here for me, is how 16x performs better than 12x. In fact at this rate you could almost question whether there's any difference in 8x & 16x TY. Before anybody throws a wobbly, I know there is.

Hi guys. I haven't had a chance to make too many burns but this is the third MCC 003 I tried. This one was burned at 4X after I found 8X and 12X to be disappointing.

wow...nice scan!! To get PI Errors under 1 do i need a high end computer or should i be able to get it with the right media and right burn speed? My computer is a P4 2.8 (400fsb), 1GB Ram (2100), Benq 1620 and 1650, windows xp sp 2 (not sure what motherboard i have...probably some crappy stuff haha). Also will it affect the PI Errors etc if i have other programs running (the other programs are low on memory and cpu) while i'm burning ?

Nope.

Absolutely.

I recommend leaving the PC alone while burning but there are other that will disagree. Try it either way and see what you get scan wise.
