My SwapMagic CD does not work?! Please help...

I have just bought SwapMagic CD and DVD. I spend hours last night but the CD version does not seem to work!
The CD has both version 3.2 and version 3.0 printed on it. First of all, I noticed it is much harder for this CD to load than the DVD version. Once it is loaded I can see the version is 3.0 and I swapped the disk to my CDR backup. However, none of my CDR backups (PS1 games) can be loaded after clicking on "X"!
Feeling frustrated, I even tried to load SwapMagic then swap in an original PS1 game CD. But it does not even load any original PS1 games.
Please help..... I appreciate it.

I read from other posts here that "If you have a PS2 v9 or v10, then you can't use the Swap Magic CD to boot CDs directly.".
That's news to me... the notes on the website where I bought my SwapMgic only said "In order to play PS1 backups, you will need to purchase a GameShark".
SO I am confused, do I need anything else if I want to play CDR RIP of PS2 game that is less than 630M in size. I am using a v9 PS2.

the swap magic cd is very poor quality, but should work on your version (thats the point of the 3.2 version). Also, the swap magic discs cannot load ps1 games.

Thanks for the reply. I think I have just one question left: will SwapMagic CD let me load CDR rip of PS2 DVD game without Break Pro? The size of the rip is only 300MB.

you need the breaker cd to play dvdrips of ps2 games...as for playing ps1 one games with the breaker pro...i have yet to do that...=(

I'm having the same problem. I can't even get original US software (I have a US console) to boot using the swap magic 3.2 disk. So is there any way to play CD format original imports? Or am I just wasting my money on CD format Japanese software?

swap magic 3.2 should definatly be working. Also, you only need breaker pro if the image is over 630megs, sorry weapon, but you are wrong.

Hmmm...I guess there must be something wrong with my Swap magic disk. My SM DVD 2.0 is working fine, but I can't get any CD format games to boot with the SM CD disk. I'm only trying to play original domestic and import games, and the thing still wont work. Any suggestions?

I gave up CDR back ups and rips using SwapMagic CD after many tries and I figured maybe I can use HD Loader to put those games to Harddisk. However I cannot load the HD Loader CD I burned.It was the fully cracked version of HD loader that I downloaded. Now I am really frustrated. I suspect my SW CD is of version 3.0 not 3.2 and it does not work with my V9 50001 PS2....

By the way, this is what I have observed:
1. When I swap from SW CD to a CDR rip or 1:1 back up of PS2 games, the disk just spins and spins....nothing will happen.
2. When I swap from SW CD to CDR with HD Loader, I got black/dark grey screen after loading HD Loader.
3. I read somwhere else that CD Loader might help. But when I swap from SW CD to CD Loader that I burned, it just spins....
I have just borrowed a DVD burner from a friend. That is what I am going to try tonight. Wow this SW thing seems harder than I expected...

I have a V10, and I have never gotten any PS2 CD-R backup to work (backup of CD-R game nor DVD-Rip) using Swap Magic, loaders and/or Breaker Pro. I've seen instructions that tell you to swap with all different kinds of discs, but none of those methods have ever let me boot up a PS2 CD backup.
I have the Breaker Pro disc, and it does boot PS1 backups for me, with no problems. I just put in Breaker Pro, then swap for the PS1 game and it worked for me.
That's just what I've experienced, others may have different results.

Also, I guess I am not sure about what is the fundamental difference between a DVD media and a CD media. My question is: if I burn a DVD rip game to a DVD-R media, can you use SwapMagic DVD to load it?

hi all,
Does anyone know how to tell the TOC of a original game??
I tried to use my original blue cd sims game to boot my wizardry backup. Cause i cracked the original..T_T
the backup didnt work at all. I used a friends wizardry to boot and the backup worked fine. I was wondering is there a "king" toc out there that can load all cd blue games for ps2?

Omg i just bought a friggin Swap disc 3.2 cd and it wont work on my V4 ps2! The DVD version works but the cd wont! After hours of cleaning i went to best buy to buy cleaning utensils i come back after spending 30$ and i clean the hell of the disc and it still doesnt fucking WORK! Im fucking pissed off as hell! where did you guys shop? I shopped at Gocyber.ca

well it should work if you put it in then swap with slider for your backup. both the DVD and CD swap magic need slider or fliptop to work. you cant just eject it. btw thanks to the moderator of his/her posting of the TOC i didnt even need to switch a higher TOC when using swap magic CD because sm cd already has the highest TOC. although for my harvest moon game it didnt work unless i used an original game like my Sims to do the TOC. not sure why but it just didn't. thanks all for the helps. I hope this answers your question.

I bought a swap magic and slide card kit from http://www.slidecardkit.co.uk and it works on all my backup games here in the UK.
Swapmagic boots all my games with ease,so must be the blank media to be a problem or the software you burn with.

Hello all, I am a newbie here and somewhat of a newbie to the scene.
Anyway, I live in the US and have a v10 ps2, I have the fliptop lid and swap magic dvd 2.0 and cd 3.2 (also says 3.0), Also I have the HDD Advance, now I have seen some discussion here as to weather or not the cd version works, on v9 or high. Well, yes and no. By thisI mean if you want to load the disc you have to turnon your ps2 without the cd in the tray, go to the browser at that screen now insert your swap magic 2 cd (cd version), in the tray, after a brief pause you will see a blue disc, now you can select the disc and hit x. The cd boots, but, (here's the no part) I then get a weird screen that says load program and video select, x normal boot square special boot, I have tried every which way to get this to play my games but still nothing. Now my only other idea is this, I have heard that the ps2 cd's are never over 650 megs, so they only use those cd's that are 650, not 700, all I have burned are on 700 meg cd's. If someone has gotten a 700 meg cd to boot please tell me how. Another handy tip,for all of those who want to play ps1 "backups", the swap magic does NOT work, you need a a gameshark or action replay 2, a cheap alternative is I bought a $5 ps1 gameshark cd smapler a few years ago and it worked great with the fliptop, (slide card works just as well, sme thing almost infact) Now I have just seen in the last 2 days in Blockbu$ter, ps1 gameshark cds for $10.00. Get `em while you can. Thanx for the help

hey capthowdy i have a v10 ps2 and the swapmagic i got 2 months ago. and i have copyed 2 cds games and they work great and they are one a 700mb disc. the games are time crisis and crazy taxi.and use Nero express 1 to 1 copy.crazy taxi don't even take up have the disc or almost i can't remember, but its not that much. odb

Hey ODB thanx, I also use Nero and Alcohol 120 as well as cdrwin all of which work great, (especially Alcohol), My problem is i dont know how to get the game started in the first place I`m trying to play NCAA 2005 Ripped to cd, I burned the image at 2x with Alcohol, and when I boot the swap magic cd I dont get insert screen like when I use the dvd disc, instead, I get load program and video, (video is for NTSC or pal) x normal boot square special boot. Which one do I use? Also I hit o by acctdent once and still nothing any tips, I also tried burning the same image with Nero, (new version from Suprnova.org). Thanx again

np, does anyone have any ideas or know how to get it to work, cd games with the swap magic, also I downloaded a dvd version of cd swap magic, so I dont have to go through the hassle of booting then inserting i just use swap magic dvd then swap in the back up I have of swap magic cd (burned to dvd), works REAL good.
Any help at all folks I`d really appreciate it
