i understand where you are coming from but at the same time you both are loosing out with the fact that you are not buying a new xbox 360 not just microsoft.

microsoft miss out because you are not going to buy a new console so they dont get no money from you when you buy 1.

you miss out because no-longer can you play the titles that hit the shelves for both console's for the cost of a download.

my point of view is that a new xbox arcade is only £120 the price of 3 brand new top title games. so if i download 3 top titles that year and complete them i have got my moneys worth but i play more then 3 games a year (some years more then others as game titles ant that good i guess). if i was to add up my gaming hobby cost a year for legit playing it will be more in the £500 or even £600 average. so for £160 (xbox 360 and xbox live account and £220 every other year as i need to buy more dual layers lol) i am saving like £300 pound a year.

another thing what makes me laugh is that some people think that microsoft are winning this cat and mouse game but i believe we are as we save money even tho we do buy another console when we get banned but its only £120 so instead of f-ing microsoft and getting a playstation why don't you just f them and get another xbox and say arwel i am still saving more money then i would be if i was legit. the price of the console is £120 and you will always have to buy another console as nothing is for free and never will be but we can make things alot cheaper but not free so DONT EVER THINK YOU ARE GOING TO GET STUFF FREE AS THIS IS LIFE GET USE TO IT NOTHING IS FREE.

i am not bothered when i get banned as every time i see a game or hear of a game i like i save up for it (i have a child so saving is still a big part of my life :( )and then put the money away to go towards another console problem solve i always have money for another console.

anyways this is my first post i have been reading this thread for hours lol and then seen this post what i have replied to and couldnt resist posting something about it lol.

anyways i think that we get banned when we update the dashboard as it goes into service mod when you are installing the update and when it has finish i guess it sends infomation back to microsoft to make shore the update has not defaulted your xbox and in this info that is sent i belive that it has all the stats of you xbox so microsoft can make shore it hasnt glitched your xbox and when it fails the test to make shore your xbox is fine after the update it finds that it isnt the way it should be as the firmware is different so it gets passed onto the next step which is to find out if your xbox is modded or not if its modded they will flag you for the next ban wave or if it is faulty which it wont be as all xbox's are the same (basicly except the drive) they will contact you some how for the xbox to get fixed. i believe this is the only way they can excess info from your xbox as the data protection act protects use. if they can send info from your xbox's hdd or even software info all the time from your xbox it has to be in the terms and conditions which i believe it is not (AS IT IS YOU CONSOLE NOT MICROSOFTS) and you will even have to except that microsoft can use info from your console when ever they want in a separate question as the law knows no 1 reads the terms (the law also wants anythink that regards infomation about private stuff must be in bold so that the agreer is fully aware of what he is signing) but they can get away with sending your stats after a update as it is solely for update reason or is it.

so basicly my theory is (i will be testing it when the next benq LT firmware comes out)

have 2 xbox's 1 legit xbox 360, 1 flashed xbox360 and 1 legit hdd and when a new dashboard update comes out (this will only work if the dashboard update is saved to the hdd which i think its is i will tell you why after) turn off your flashed xbox and take the hdd out and put it in the legit 1. turn the legit xbox on and install the update so it sends the info of that xbox to microsoft to make shore every think is fine and ka bam it is cause its a legit xbox. finally turn off the legit xbox and then put the hdd back into the flashed 1 and then you should have no updates and your xbox firmware stay's private i hope lol.


the reason i am pritty shore the updates are saved to the hdd as before i flashed my cousins old xbox i put in my hdd and didnt need no dashboard updates when that console has never been on live as he doesnt have good internet so i know that for a fact it has never been online. anyways as i said that i do not know if this theory will work as i havent tested it yet and hope no 1 has as that gives it more of a chance to pass. if this theory does work i will keep you informed at the next ban wave and if this theory does work use your head a little bit and DO NOT PUT IT ON YOUTUBE AS A TUTORIAL AND TELL ONLY PEOPLE HOW TO DO IT THROUGH EMAILS OR PM OR EVEN FACE TO FACE AS IF IT GOES ON YOUTUBE AND MICROSOFT FIND OUT THAT THE PIRATES HAVE FOUND AWAY AROUND THE BANS (WHICH THEY WILL IF IT GOES ON YOUTUBE AS THEY HAVE PEOPLE CHECKING FOR GLITCH'S N STUFF ON THERE SO THEY CAN PATCH THEM N STUFF) THEY WILL FIND A DIFFERENT WAY TO BAN PEOPLE AND THE HOLE SHA BANG OF WHAT CAN WE DO NEXT HAPPENS AGAIN.
