From what I've read this does sound like a dvd media problem. Most here swear by Verbatim DVD's. I, myself, use TDK DVD-R's. Also, I believe that they must be -R media. I also tried Sony +Rs when I first started and they didn't work for me either. Hope this helps, best of luck.

Quick question: I have an american Wii and I'm using 3.4U firmware.
Can I play japanese backup game discs using Wii Gator Backup Loader 0.3 Gamma?
American backup game discs work fine.

Sorry if this has been asked but I've been drinkin (st. patty's day) and reading a bunch of forums but the Wii seemes to have a little more scatter-brained mod following than say the NDS or PSP. So im a little confused.
Some people say that 3.4 is fine for homebrew other say that 3.2 is the best, and another forum said that downgrading to 2.0 is the best. :S bit confused.
I don't know why members find it hard to find the IOS16-64-v257-prod.wad file.
Google it and you can find it.
Matter of fact go HERE and click on the MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service link in the serach list and you can download it there.
Okay, I've installed IOS16-64-v257-prod.wad. Now I get the same error (Installing Ticket...Error! (ret = -2011)) when I try to install ciso_fix.wad. Again, these are the files that the guide I'm following provided me with. I'm following it just like the youtube video. Any ideas?

Did you try running the cIOS_Fix.wad with the normal WAD Manager (not the custom WAD Manager)?

Yes, but not all will be compatible (hardcoded to japan only) so it would be trial and error, read the guide below how to protect your Wii..if a game with 3.5j and contains update it might Brick your Wii.

Error -2011 sometimes cause by NOT using the "CUSTOM WAD Manager", ;as far as LAN adapter you don't need it. If you have problem on your WIFI when doing the hack set to Manual(static IP) and it should be fine.

Read the guide.
It says if you have issues installing the cIOS_Fix.wad to use the normal WAD manger. If you follow the guide as is the first time you should be using the custom WAD installer. So if they did the steps properly then they should be using the custom WAD installer. That is why I asked if they used the normal WAD Installer yet. Since the guide says if you have issues with the custom installer to use the normal installer.

Again a false statement. There have been numerous people that have had issues with the custom installer and had to use the normal wad installer. Try using the custom installer first like the guide says. If that doesn't work then use the normal wad installer.

You boot the GC backups with the same launcher you use with the Wii backups.

Wow, thats right it works perfect. That makes me feel kind of stupid since Ive been loading it through homebrew. I guess I thought it should have its own channel because Ive seen some youtube videos where it had a seperate channel, but this is even better thanks a lot.

Got it all fixed Larry, thank you. I had to use "custom WM" to install it. I had initially been using "WAD manager" and that was the reason it wasn't working.

Hi Guys
Recently bought wii in UK, ver 3.4E, I had a look at your guide looks awesone, but I need clerfication on what to do about the following.
When you say follow first three steps from this link, if I look at this link, it goes through HBC installation using v254, and Wii fix process.
http://gbatemp.net/index.php?s=572be6275...howtopic=112945
Once done that if I follow your guide then you also go through HBC installation process using 1024 WAD,
So I am confused what to do in this situation?
Please help me and ignore my nounsense.
Thanks

Can't users think a little bit here.
If you already have the Homebrew Channel installed due to OCT 23rd/3.4 fix guide then just skip the instillation of Homebrew Channel part on this guide.
Did I really need to clarify that?

Hi all,
When I launch backed up games I always get a message at the bottom of Wiigator that says No SD Codes found- . Is this a problem? Most of my games work, a handful don't.

You missed some steps most likely:
Read on top of the guide---If You Have 3.3 or 3.4---
If you have the OCT 23rd 3.3 firmware or 3.4 firmware update the instillation of WAD/cIOS files will be blocked. You can go HERE and follow the first 3 parts of the guide (To make it clear follow the What You Need/Installing Homebrew Channel Guide/Wii Fix Guide). This will fix the limitation so you can install the files needed for the Backup Launcher (you do not have to downgrade the system firmware).

OK I did the steps for the wii fix and everything only have trouble in step 6 after installing Ios51 and pactching it, it did not ask me anything about the shop channel but aside from that everything perfect.
i followed this guide again to install the backup launcher channel and everything succeded. still have the same problem though backup launcher gamma just hangs in there with no options or anything. also if its worth mentioning the optional step of the wii fix guide does not work for me because cios installer freezes when i start it. it just hangs in the disclaimer and i have to turn off mi wii.any ideas?
