No, it does not show format. When you click on "format" a window pops up and it already has FAT32 on it. It does not say "default".

Thanks again for all the help. I found out what the problem was. The card I was originally trying to use was a 8GB card, I tried a 2GB card and it worked. Thanks again.

The OCT 23rd/3.4 fix link works perfectly fine for me.

(324) error is uasly due to bad media. Try diffrent media.

Lol clicked on it after restarting my computer and it worked fine

About the media, could you suggest one for me as I have tried Sony and the one that begins with a v(see said I was a noob at this) and neither of them work. Could it be that it is my .iso file is a bad one how can I check whether or not it's a good backup. Or could you direct me to a site from which to download them from (if you're allowed)

Thanks

Okay, I have been searching for 3 hours and I have had no luck. I installed the iso installer, with the CIOS36_rev5-64-v1042.wad in the root menu, don't know why, was just told to. I modded another wii and it had not problem, it was version 3.3u. This too says 3.3u in the root menu. Anyway for some reason this didn't work on this one, its says dvd read error 324, so I did some searching. I downoaded your 3.3 version, didn't work either, and I deleted the IOS249 file, and reinstalled it, again same thing. One interesting thing, is that it did play one game, raving rabbids tv party, and that was it, I put in 20 others, that worked on both my and my friends soft modded wiis, and they didn't work, just the one. I would really appreciate your advice, is it possible it is 3.4 even though it says 3.3u, it was purchased around Christmas time. But they say the new wii blockers block both the wads and backups... I uploaded 6 wads on the system and they play fine, so do you have any clue whats going on?

I have tried to do the downgrader, but I keep stalling on the IOS20 v12 file, is there a way to install these files from the sd card? I have found a website on the internet with all these IOS files.

I have 3.4U and have done the Wii Fix Guide but CIOS installer will still not install.

didnt you upgrade to 3.4 like the guide said to, it makes reference to two versions of 3.3 and tells you to follow the first three steps of a different guide and that said to upgrade to 3.4.

"If you have the OCT 23rd 3.3 firmware or 3.4 firmware update the instillation of WAD/cIOS files will be blocked. You can go HERE and follow the first 3 parts of the guide (To make it clear follow the What You Need/Installing Homebrew Channel Guide/Wii Fix Guide). This will fix the limitation so you can install the files needed for the Backup Launcher (you do not have to downgrade the system firmware)."

just a thought.

I have lost all and any respect i had for this site!

I didn't read anywhere in the guide where it said to upgrade to 3.4, it said I could use the 3.4 folder if thats the case, but nothing that says to upgrade.

You don't have to upgrade

But if you have the Oct23rd 3.3 update you need to do the fix described in the red print.

As larrylje pointed out just above your post the dvd read error 324 is due to bad media.

Not all wii's are the same, each one may prefer a different media.

What You Need

WARNING: SPOILER INSIDE
(show)
(hide)

These Files
IOS16-64-v257-prod.wad - Google It and place it in the 'WAD' folder.

Installing Homebrew Channel Guide
This Channel is required to be installed on your Wii in order to run the Homebrew Apps in the SD Card.

WARNING: SPOILER INSIDE
(show)
(hide)

Step 1:
Delete the current "Zelda Twilight Princess" save on your Wii.

Step 2:
Go into Wii Options --> Data Management --> Save Data --> Wii.

Step 3:
Copy the corresponding "Twilight Hack" Save that matches your game region from the "SD Card" to the "Wii".

Note:
3.4X Wii Firmware users must not reboot/turn off your Wii at this point. The save will disappear otherwise.

Step 4:
Insert the "Zelda Twilight Princess" Disc into the Wii?s DVD Drive. Connect a Nunchuk to the Wii Remote and "Start" the game.

Step 5:
Load the first save slot.

Note:
If you?re using a USA Disc, check the inner circle of the data surface. You should see the following text as "RVL-RZDE-0A-".
If it has a 2 at the end, then load the second save slot. If it has a ?0?, load the first save slot.

Step 6:
Move Link towards the man. Talk to him by pressing the "A" button.

Step 7:
Follow the instructions shown on the screen.

Step 8:
The Homebrew Channel has been installed successfully!

Wii Fix Guide
If you plan to use the latest Wii Firmware or are using 3.3Xv2 / 3.4X, you will find you will be unable to install WADs and some Homebrew Apps will not work correctly (such as Any Region Changer and Firmware Downgrader). This guide will fix those problems.

WARNING: SPOILER INSIDE
(show)
(hide)

Step 1:
Update your Wii to the latest version.

Step 2:
Using "The Homebrew Channel", open "WAD Manager".

Step 3:
Press "A" on the Wii Remote once.
The Wii should detect a SD Card.
Press "A" again to see a list of WADs on the SD Card.
Use the "D-Pad" to select "IOS16-64-v257-prod.wad".
Press "+" to install the WAD.
Once installed, press the "Home" button, to restart you Wii.

Step 4:
Using "The Homebrew Channel", open ?Custom Manager".
Using the same method as in "Step 3", install the "cIOS_Fix.wad".
Once installed, press the "Home" button, to restart you Wii.

Note:
If that fails to install, just use ?WAD Manager? to install it like in the youtube video.

Step 5:
Using the ?Homebrew Channel?, open ?IOS Downgrader?. Just follow the instructions on the screen and wait until it finishes installing the necessary IOSs.

STEP 6:
Using "The Homebrew Channel", open "Install Shop IOS51".
Use the "D-Pad" to select "Yes", and install "IOS51", by pressing "A".
Use the "D-Pad" to select "Yes", and install the IOS Patch, by pressing "A".
Use the "D-Pad" to select "No", and DO NOT install the "Wii Shop Channel".

Step 7:
Using the ?Homebrew Channel?, open ?WAD Manager ?. Install ?WAD MANAGER 1.3?.

Step 8:
The Wii is now able to install WADs and Homebrew Apps should work properly now.

Optional Step:
If you use ?WiiGator? or the ?Backup Loader?, using the Homebrew Channel, install ?cIOS Installer?. This updates the ?cIOS_Fix? that was previously installed

I have lost all and any respect i had for this site!

The OCT 23rd/3.4 fix link works perfectly fine for me.

I was also getting this error, but i realized that my oct 23/3.4 fix wasn't installed properly. I updated my Wii again to 3.4u then did the fix that larrylje had linked for the 3.4u fix, followed it to a tee. I already had the Wii shop channel so I stopped when the ios downgrader was done step #5(in the Wii Fix guide). Then ran the Cios installer and it now works. Make sure you are using the ios16-64-v257-prod.wad file. I didn't have that file, and that is were the problem came.

Thanks larrylje for the step by step.

I've now done two consoles with the cios fix, and had no problems! Thanks very much for the compiled guides to fix the 3.4 update! Please folks, read the guides more than once, it does make a difference! It took me five or six times through to "get it", then I came and asked a few clarifying questions, read the guide twice more. I've never done this before and the terms were mainly my hangup. Do your research and this does work! Many thanks to larrylje, and all those involved with the developement. Good luck and Have fun!

Okay so quick question before I do it, how do I update to 3.4u, as I am on 3.3u? I was told by some sites not to update via the system. If I do go through the system how do I do it and if not, where can I get the update

I'm not sure as to the "recomended way", but if it helps I used the system to update. From the menu select wii options, then wii settings, then wii system update. I've done it to two now, no problem. Hope this helps.

Hi Guys.

I have done the steps and it working fine.
But i would like to know, if it is safe to delete/remove the wad manager channel again.
I mean the installation is done, it is working, and i don't asume i need the manager anymore, so will it still work if i remove it?

Thanks in advance.

Hi, I have tried to do this but to no avail i just keep getting error messages on the backup channel and i have tried 3 different media (will try more when i get more money).

I was wondering is there a way that i can completely and totally remove all modding done to my wii (i dont have a mod chip) so that i can just start again, following just this guide so i know i have done everything right.

Also i know i could just format the wii system memory but i dont want to lose all of my paid for channels and stuff as it says channels saved to an sd card cannot be restored. is there a way i can restore sd card saved channels or is there a homebrew app that removes all softmodding

Hope that makes sense

As far as I know the Wii Shop keeps channels that you have purchased and downloaded there, so you can re-download if necessary.

And for any saves, just copy them to your pc, then copy back to SD card.

Unfortunately that only counts for if you delete the channels rather than formatting the whole system, this deletes all shop data meaning that if you log on again it'll start a whole new account and have no recollection of me ever having had an account.

i know that you can do that mii thing so you can save them on the comp is there anything like that for channels that can then be saved to a "new" wii like an unlocking thing so that i could take a channel from wii A and put it on wii B

there will be no problem in removing the wad manager, i have a 9yr old boy so i removed it myself, after doing a few others i found that it was not a must to install the wad manager as a channel.

Hi guys, I successfully installed the homebrew channel on my Wii.......Can I delete the twilight princess "exploit" save, or does it have to remain on the wii? Also, if I can delete it....can I put the original Twilight Princess save that I originally had on my wii? I got kinda far and I don't want to start all over. lol
