Thanks for the guide, it clears up so much. I just have one question. I know for a fact that I have 3.3v1 installed (because it came from the wii fit update and according to WUM that is v1). In which case, do I just install cIOS36 rev10 now? I have already done the TH, and think installed ios249-rev7 in an earlier attempt to get BLG to work (which didn't, and causes "exception (DSI)"). Also, is this all I need to do to use wiigator's BLG app (which doesn't appear to be in your download, but I can add it correct?). Thanks for the help, and I hope this isn't a repost.

cIOS36_rev10 should install over ios249-rev7. I also have the WiiGator BLG included. It is a WAD file that installs via WAD Manager which in turn installs into the Wii menu. Read the guide and you would have known this.

I never have used DVDx so it could effect it. Try uninstalling DVDx then try reinstalling cIOS36_rev 9 or 10.
I don't have your Wii in front of me so I can not see what could be going wrong. All I can do is tell you what you should have to do and if you still have issues then I have no idea what else to tell you.

I definitely read the guide, and you say "this will install the channel," but can't you use the BLG app without having to install a channel? Just directly through the HBC? Sorry, I am not trying to waste your time, I just want to understand what is happening. Thanks.

If you want to use it through the HBC then you will need to find a dol file and use it. Most want a channel so I just added the WAD file to install the channel.

I am still getting "exception (DSI) occurred". I decided to install the channel, and installed cios36-rev10. Everything went perfectly, but it still won't work and I am stumped. I am trying DECA sports 1:1, could it be the game? I am not sure why it would have an exception error if it's the game, wouldn't it just be a blank screen? Thanks for your help, and I appreciate any further steps you think I should take.
Forgot to mention, I burned using liquidCD at 4x on a memorex DVD-R.

Use IMGBurn which is free and burn at 4X. If you still get an error then get rid of the Memosux media and try some Verbatim or Tayio yuden.

So that kind of error could be the game? That is a relief. I have a mac so I can't use IMGBurn, but I will try to borrow a buddy's PC. I am going to try a different game first, just to make sure it isn't DECA. Thank you, I will let you (all) know how it turns out.

Great guide, thanks! I started with a 3.4U system, followed the guide (including the steps in the oct fix) and everything worked! I do have a couple questions tho:
1) Every backup I have made seems to really cause my Wii drive to make a ton of noise. Deadly Creatures causes so much spinning, it usually locks up. I'm using RiData DVD-R burning in IMGburn at 3x. Is this normal for the drive to sound so loud with a backup?
2) How do I uninstall a channel? (for example, the Wad manager channel, or the Backup Launcher Channel)? Not that I want to right now, but I just want to know how in the future.
I'm about to try the USB loader stuff, hoping that will work better then the backups so far, they all sound like they are going to break my dvd drive.
Thanks,
Andrew

Hot damn! (kinda nerdy but I am pumped) It works like a champ. I just tried Tiger 08 burning with mac disk utility at 2x on Memorex, and it works. If I knew who you were larry, I would buy you a sandwich, thanks.
To sum up, if you have a 3.3v1 (be sure it is v1) treat it like a 3.2 and just install HBC, then cios36-rev10, then BLG channel. All included in the guide, and make sure it's not you're iso.

Some users do claim the drive is loud when using the backup launcher. You might want to try different media like verbatim or Tayio Yuden and burn at 4X with IMGBurn.
To delete channels like WAD Manager or Wii Gator Backup launcher you can do this by using the same WAD file that you used to install the channel and instead of pressing + to install you press - to uninstall.
Or you can delete them from the system memory settings under the channel section.

I can confirm - if you follow his steps exactly, then you should be good to go - worked like a charm for me!
larry - Do you think its better playing from backups, or from something like USB Loader? I'm in the process of formatting a hard drive to the WBFS format, can't wait to try it. Just wondering if one way has better compatibility over the other or anything?
Thanks,
Andrew

Hey, instead of adding the launcher as a channel, can I launch the Backup Launcher from the Homebrew Channel instead? I don't feel safe adding it as a channel.

I really wish users would read past post as well as the guide it self. I just answered this question a few post up. Now stop being lazy and read.

Hi all,
First of all, I've read through the guide(s) and the 20 pages of this thread, so...
I unfortunately bought one of the LU64 consoles and installed a drivekey mod chip in it. It plays all games fine. My issue is trying to use the Wii to backup games either via Wifi or SD card. It won't let me do either and I don't have an LG DVD ROM. I guess I'm in purgatory until a fix comes out, which was supposed to be April 24 by SoftMii.
But if anyone has any ideas, I would deeply appreciate them. I tried elk1007 guide for installing DVDdumper and I get to the part where it says to start dumping but it doesn't work.

if wifi doesnt work its something that might come on future versions of usbloader , why games are smaller then 4,37 , has been anwsered b4 , cause games are 3 parts 1 is game 1 is update 1 is trash so when u get them on disk it removed the update and trash part making games deom 0.2gb to 3,8 ( the higest i saw for a dvd5 game ssbb should be more

I saw one you have to gothrough homebrew channel and they realeased another called 0.2 or something like that is there any difference between the one in your guide and that one?? Is the compatability list the same?

WiFi will work with USB Loader. I have played Animal Crossing with my Friends a few times.
If you have a USB Network adapter (then you technically are not using WiFi) then that will not work. cIOS36_ver11 is supposed to fix USB device support.
As for GameCube support. As far as I know using the cMIOS to boot GC games through the WiiGator channel is the same as booting it through the GC loader.
