Please start your own thread. This thread has nothing to do with the mywiidownloads site. So either bring it up with them or start a new thread if you need help.

sorry, i'm not sure whether is it appropriate to ask this question here.
please delete it if it is not :)
about the gamma compatibility list, what does the 1:1 stands for? .. the yes/no or no/yes yes/yes... etc :)

I would assume it means can it be played with a 1 to 1 backup or does it need patched.

I have been up to my eyes in BLG Vs Softmii for about a week now and have decided to go with BLG. I've watched youtube videos, read countless tutorials and signed up to the primo sites dealing with softmodding the wii, but have found this guide to be among (if not) the best. Just wondering what has taken the place of Starfall, fixed error 002, and which of the 2 upgrades to firmware 4 do you suggest? Thanks in advance....I'll probably have some more questions after I've finally grasped the nettle and performed the mod.

Starpatch is supposedly 4.0 supported but lacks allot of options that starfall had.
Both cIOS and WiiGator listed in this guide has #002 fix.
As for upgrading to 4.0 some have supposedly bricked using method 2 so method 1 is recommended. I used method 2 on my system with no issue but since have used method 1 on the others systems I have done. So for me they both worked but I have mainly used method 1 myself after a few have said method 2 bricked their system.

hi,
just another question, with the same SD card(contains usb loader,etc), can i use it to store wad channels moved from wii system memory? or i have to use separate sd card for it?

You can use the same SD card. I would recommend not moving the Honmebrew Channel to the SD Card. I wouldn't take the chance since 4.0 blocks TP hack and if something goes wrong you will not be able to install the Homebrew Channel again.

I have about 10 vc games that i've downloaded from wii shop. I plan to store it on the sd card, leaving only the original channels + hbc on wii system memory. And, i also don't wish to swap sd card between a "VC games" card and the "usb loader" card. so, just want to know whether can those "files" be combined into 1 card

I followed this guide and got everything to work but after upgrading to 4.0 using method #2, my usb loader 1.5 won't work. giving me a ERROR (ret = -1). Is not the usb drive because I tested it on another wii and work fine. Any ideas?
never mind I reinstalled cIOS36_rev9 and everything working again!

I am going to follow your guide to the letter and upgrade to 4.00 using the first method. Just a couple of questions: Can I leave wiiconnect24 on? Do I need to install Startpatch? (I personally don't want to as it sounds a bit screwy and you yourself haven't installed it). Also, I have a wad for the opera browser (on a PAL Wii), will I be able to use it or am I asking for trouble? Alright, so that's not following your guide to the letter....lol. As a total noob to this, just want to get it all straight before proceeding so any advice will be appreciated.

You can use WiiConnect24.
You don't need Starpatch.
If your Wii is PAL then install the PAL WAD of the Opera browser (or region free version).

Great guide larry i successfully installed HBC and wiigator with gamecube support.
Well i have come to a demise lol.
I have made 4 game backups. The first 3 worked fine, but the fourth one which was FIFA 09 keeps messing up.
And since i don't know how to describe exacltly whats going on, i uploaded a video on youtube

Can you tell me if there is any way to fix this by changing the settings or im screwed and just ruined a new disc?

Looks like you got a PAL version of the game and an NTSC Wii?
Press 1 during booting up the Backup Launcher. This should bring up the options menu. Choose FORCE NTSC and boot the game.
