Please disregard my former message, I got it working, found out that I either had to use a 2GB or less card or firefox for the wifi. I'm am currently backing up my wifit DVD but its gonna take 3-4 hours, my dl rate is 200-400kb. Does this seem right, if it does, I might be dumping overnight so my kids can play during the day.

I already disregarded your former message becuase it had nothing to do with this thread at all.
How about asking this question in the guide you where following?
This thread has nothing to do with dumping Wii games and doesn't have any business being asked here.
This is another reason why we get 100 pages of post in a thread because users ask question that do not pertain to the thread at all.

cIOS36_rev10 should install over ios249-rev7. I also have the WiiGator BLG included. It is a WAD file that installs via WAD Manager which in turn installs into the Wii menu. Read the guide and you would have known this.
I definitely read the guide, and you say "this will install the channel," but can't you use the BLG app without having to install a channel? Just directly through the HBC? Sorry, I am not trying to waste your time, I just want to understand what is happening. Thanks.
If you want to use it through the HBC then you will need to find a dol file and use it. Most want a channel so I just added the WAD file to install the channel.

thanks for that last post severely helpfull.
another question whats the latest version of cmios and cios ?
also theres 2 versions of 0.3 gamma
one has a menu once you run it and the other says press 1 after start for options
i just checked v11 of cios is nowhere to be found

im afraid you aren't speaking of gamma versions but yes of a wiigator channel and cios rev 11 wasnt launched yet

Both versions your speaking of are 0.3 gamma.
1 just boots the game straight away and gives you an option to press 1 if you want to go to the options menu. The other goes directly to the options menu and you boot the game from there.
The latest cMIOS is version 3 and the latest cIOs version is cIOS36_rev10. rev11 is not out yet.

o yeah exactly . both of em are same compatibility right ? also i have that cios and that mios installed. ima try to get a pack of verbatims.
if they work ima buy another pack but lightscribes.{killing me to try it out}

Larry, great guide. I have an extremely noobish question. I followed your guide, and have the 1.4 USB Loader (which is working great) but how do I go about upgrading to 1.5? I downloaded the zip that contains the 1.5 dol file, but I don't know what to do from there.

it should come with a xml file . if not try replacing the the dol file on your sd for the one in the zip

Rename the 1.5 dol file to boot.dol and replace it with the 1.4 boot.dol file in the SD:/apps/USB Loader directory.

omg i got it working by accident.
heres what happened . i downloaded pokemon XD
and burned it on my memorex. at 4x on nero instead of img burn
so when i played it on gamma it loaded mario kart wii. and im like wtf
so i accidently burned mario kart again for the 3rd time without knowing.
the only diference was that i used nero.
and i burned this time for real the pokemon . and it works like a charm.
one problem i get is that after playing sometime on mario kart i get the
the disc could not be read. mostly when playing online.

hi,
thanks for this useful information. i'm able to play backup games.
but unfortunately, i'm not able to go into the wii shop anymore. It just showing a black screen, and i have to reset my wii.
would appreciate if someone could please help, thanks.

hi,
i've just managed to update to 4.0 successfully. but i'm still unable to get to the wii shop. I still have about 1500 points there.
actually, my intention is not on playing homebrews or install wads. I just want to play my backup games only and maybe play the backups from any usb device.
any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
edit: btw, although i've updated to 4.0, but my wii settings still showing 3.4u, does that mean i need to run the update again?
during installation, i saw the word "upgraded successfully"

If you followed the guide as well as the 4.0 section properly you should be at 4.0 firmware. If it says 3.4 still then you didn't do something right.

Hi,
It's me again :P Sorry to disturb.
I've tested most of my backups, everything seems to be working accept Mortal Kombat Arma., Redsteel and House of Dead 2&3 Return. After launching it, pass the wiimote instruction screen, it hangs with a black screen.
i've checked on the compatibility list at [url=http://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/index.php/Backup_Launcher_v3#R][/url]. It says to change IOS to 249. Can i do that? May i know whether is there any implication?
Appreciate if you could provide me with some advices, thanks a lot.

For some games including the above you need to download the newest version of IOS Version Patcher. Drag the game ISO (you will need to rip it to the PC if you no longer have the ISO on PC) into the IOS Version Patcher and type 249 which will then patch the ISO to use 249 IOS when it runs.
After it patches the ISO you can then burn the game to DVD.

IOS Patcher patches the IOS that the game uses. WiiBrickBlocker deletes the update off Wii ISO disc if there is an update on it.

I got sucked in by the mywiidownloads site and i followed the intall instructions but now I have come across a problem that my wii now says that the system files are currupted and the wii wont do anything.
Can anyone out there help?
