Hi Larry,
I was pressing the reset button after the error showed up on the screen.
I didn't try while the system was booting,I will try that.
Do you think its recoverable my 7 yrs old is missing her WII a lot.
Thanks for a quick response.

As I said hold the reset button down and then reinstall Preloader .29 again.

Okay, been out of the scene for awhile...
I have an old Wii. LU3... version. 1st Wiikey version.
Worked like a charm and everything kicked butt...
My daughters bought Resort and did the update (opps)!
I then followed the guides and went through the whole softmod procedure and got the Homebrew channel upand everything.
Now I am having a hit and miss with my backups working.
I just did a backup of GI Joe and it takes forever to load between scenes, and controller does not automatically work because it is loading (forever it seems).
What am I missing? Also is there a way now to just use an external HDD into the USB and run all the games. Could not find a link to that rumor in the shortcut page to all links...

Disc Loaders only read at 3X speed so you can get slow load times and choppy video at times.
Your Wiikey should still work even after upgrading to 4.1 firmware.
As for using a USB Loader look through the first page of the Wii forum. The USB Loader GX guide is usually listed on the first page. This will have faster load times then the normal 6X speed.

Another quick question, where do I find "wbfs loader/manager" to set up a HD for backups? Sorry, the seach engine showed me everyone's questions, but I didn't see a link to the info...
Also I figured out that I was not using the NeoGamma Backup Loader, and GI Joe works flawlessly...
But now I want to load all my backups on a 1TB and make it faster/easier to use... Always something new to leanr!

As I said before. There is a Guide for USB Loader GX usually on the first or second page in the Wii section. Look through it and find it. The link to WBFS Manager is in that guide.

hi larrylge it stan again i solve my problem with the backup issue..now i install the rest of the guide it went well..now when i to play my back up like punch out or tiger wood 09,10 ver it wont load from disc channel only from back up launcher the only it read is the super paper mario..i heard there is a new cioscorp ver 3.1 sure i load this or not..if so where can i get it..please help me asap..
ps i forgot one thing on the systemmenu hacks on the preloader menu what other setting should i enable..thank

Hi there,
Totally new into Wii. I'd love to be able to play my 'backup' games directly on the DVD, not interested (at this stage) in running them from an external drive or something.
Before proceed to anything, I have noticed (if I am right) that installing BootMii and backup your NAND helps you restore the system in case it's bricked.
I installed the HackMii installed but it says that the BootMii can only be installed as an IOS. Before doing this I have two questions:
1. if I do this, am I going to be able to restore from a brick-situation? I have read that the answer is no .... is that right?
2. Is there any 'danger' update my Wii through the Nintendo servers? danger to get it bricked I mean ...

How are you doing Larry I hope that I am putting this in the right spot. Im have 5 backup wii games. 3 out of the 5 work without no porblem. The Three that work are Mario Tennis Power, Mario Paper, and Greys Antomy. Those games were form my Wife and Kids had to take care of them first. Now the 2 games that do not work are Zelda (WLP) and Mario Galxy. Zelda and Mario will work until it gets to the Tittle screen then it just freezes and says interuption with the controller press A and etc. I have read your Patch docs. and followed them to a T and still the do the same thing can you help me please

Sounds like something screwed up in the update somewheres. If you are using a PRE LU64/LU65, I would run the downgrader again and put your system at 3.2 then repeat all of the steps (or download the whole 4.1 wad and reinstall that and see if it helps for the official games). If you did a NAND backup, I would restore it and test to see if the wii works then. If it does, then try hacking it again. My guess is you missed a step or you have an LU64 (in which case you shouldn't be following this guide).

This guide uses the cios38 rev 14... you would just install that instead of cios38 rev 13b... I would just follow this guide... after you get bootmii on (and thus hbc) this guide will do the rest for you...

My advice: follow this guide from the beginning. You have HBC installed already and have cios38 rev 14 installed, but I would follow it through beginning to end (even reinstalling cios38 rev 14 just to make sure it doesn't screw anything else up). When I updated from 3.2 to 4.1 I followed this guide to the letter... even though I already had cioscorp (which I got rid of to install bootmii as a boot2 so I could do a proper nand backup/restore).

Yes follow the guide as is.
I switched IOS Downgrader to Step4: to make sure all the IOS are downgraded and patched after you update to 4.1 firmware.

hi i am new on wii...i falloed the softmode guide step by step and all steps passed...then i burned myself DVD+R(acme)EA Sports Active with imageburn at 4x speed...but when i try to start game with that new chanel NeoGamma R6 or somthing like that it will say me Dvd read error 972...any tips what i am doing wrong or to i miss some application...any help wuld be grate...THX

Wow I am having trouble booting a game with Neogamma.

And aren't you supposed to use DVD-R (I should start counting the number of times I say that...). And when you use this guide, you can just use the disk channel instead of the neogamma...

Hey, in the guide it says update to 4.1 using nintendo's internet official connection thing... But I think there may be a new one out? Before doing all this i tested my internet connection and it told me of a new firmware, this was while I was on 4.1 so if I use nintendo's official installer will i be bricked? A speedy reply would be appreciated so thank you in advance :)
