Sounds to me like your burner may be failing then. Either that or you have a bad backup. I would attempt to recreate the backup or transfer the disk image (iso presumably) to another PC and try to re-burn it. Also, try different software for burning the disks. I would recommend imgburn. I had issues with nero myself. Also, if you put the disk that you burned into your computer and open it in my computer, do you see anything on the disk?
Side note: which game are you trying to burn? I can see if I have it and if I can get a backup of it to work. Could be an issue with that game.

ok here's my experience. i was on 4.0e with the guide installed. i hit nintendo system update which it did but gave an error code at the end. the wii said 4.1e however when it rebooted. trying update again returned 32002 and 32007 error's which i suspect is more the server busy or my wifi.
i put a backup of sports resort in the drive and the wii reported system update before you can use this software. it ran and passed install, still saying 4.1e. then loaded the backup no problems????
the only thing i noticed is the preloader no longer works by accessing on boot.
hope this helps someone

Pleloader 4.1u is out now - has been for a few days. Grab a copy and reinstall via homebrew. Seems to work with 4.1u firmware just fine. It also gives the ability to move the disc channel around now. As a result, I would not recommend Cioscorp installation to anyone anymore. I used to like it just for the fact of being able to play discs directly on the disc channel, but if bootmii doesn't like the file structure, then neither do I.
I had cioscorp installed on 4.0u. I ended up downgrading to 3.2u to wipe it clean. Then upgraded to 4.1u the "normal way". I lost disc channel playback but feel much better about my system file integrity now. Plus, since implementing USB Loader GX 2 weeks ago, I don't have a single backup disc anymore.

There is nothing wrong with cIOSCorp or the structure. The Bootmii team is anti-piracy and for that reason do not like it. They don't recommend installing a cIOS either but I doubt you will stop using it. Because if you did then you would have no way to launch backup games from a launcher or USB loader.
As for 4.1 the guide was updated yesterday to include the the 4.1 hacks.ini file so you are a little late there.

couple of things.
i got the fakesign fixed ios(36) error when i tried to install the preloader. i used downgrader as suggested. i note the downgrader in the pack is ver 1.0 while the latest is 1.11?
the downgrader worked and preloader installed, however with sports resort in the drive the wii then said system update on the disc channel. although already at 4.1 it performs its bits and doesnt appear to damage anything.
moving onto system hacks in the preloader, i get syntax error at 139? when i press any button. i assume this is because the sports resort update mod's ios60 and screws the preloader?
update: the hacks ini in the pack seems to fail the preloader, i replaced it 4.1e dated 19/07/09 and all is well

Sounds like you have a PAL wii then... If not, you may need to wait for the NTSC version of wii sports resort to come out. I had issues running PAL games on my wii, so I do not know if that will cause issues or not. I do not have either of those games, but I can attempt to look into it.
I will post back if I find anyone else having issues with either of those games...

I am a total noob at this, thus my stupid questions...
What is ios? Is it the same as fw?
I have fw 3.4E on my wii, should I upgrade it to 4.1 and then softmod it before following this guide?

IOS is an integrated Operating System (from my understanding)... essentially it is the API's and backend and GUI for the wii. Similar to firmware, but yet still different. I would softmod at 3.4E then follow the guide. You are more likely to have success if you install the softmod (ie homebrew channel) on an older version than on the latest system menu version (fw in your post).

It is just as easy to install the softmod on 4.1 firmware. So firmware doesn't really matter because all firmware can be modded. But I recommend updating to 4.1 so you have all latest options available.
Do as the guide says. It says if your system is already softmoded then follow the guide. if it isn't then follow the linked guide to softmod it then come back to this guide to finish.

It works!!!
Brilliant, thanks for the excellent guide at the beginning!
I used the link as if it had never been softmodded and used bannerbomb to get HBC running again,
It didn't let me continue with that guide and downgrade IOS35, it said i was a pirate!!!
So i came back to this guide running all the homebrew things and now have a 4.1e wii running backups through the disc channel!

Thank you also!
I just completed this guide as well with a very successfully install. I'm now felling more confident in installing these mods. As a newbie I know how scary these guides sound but follow them closely. Read the system specific details and with the added protections included sounds to me you should have no troubles.
So now that I'm done and have the Update check off. What will happen when the next big game is released requiring a system upgrade? Will we wait for a Waninkoko updater? I'm guessing there will be some pre notice in the mod seen and you smarty guys will find a way to keep our favorite utilities running smooth. So thanks for that in advance.

I followed these instructions and everything works fine but i now see talk of a cIOS rev 14 that is out.
If I followed this guide after following the original softmod guide what cIOS do I have? cIOScorp or do I still have the rev 13 that was listed in the new and improved guide several weeks ago when I first followed it? (i see it update to rev 14 now)
If I update to revision 14 can I still play backups from the disc channel?

It is perfectly fine to update to cIOS38_rev14. It won't interfere with loading from disc channel.

As a total noob I did ALOT of research and as a result I found this exact thread and followed it step by step and was successful ! This works 100% and I can now play Wii backups from the boot channel on menu 4.1 ! I have one question, can I still play Gamecube games from the boot channel or do i have to use some other method to load the Gamecube games?

Really need some help here guys, dont want to feck my mates wii up.
I have done step 2, but I went YES for for Korean Disc Support.
I'm waiting to restart the wii and go onto step 3, I dont want to restart and mess it up.
Is it fine to upgrade to 4.1e again now or should I downgrade again, will this remove support for Korean disc's?
Does it make any difference if it has support for Korean discs?

I have no idea what will happen since I followed the directions.
But I would assume after updating back to 4.1 downgrade again but this time choose NO to Korean support.

Quote: Step 7: Start WAD Manager (Launch it using HBC).
Select IOS249 for installer.
Select SD Card as device to mount.
There is only 1 WAD listed ?CIOS60BF.wad? so install it.
After it has installed press home.
Exit out of the Homebrew Channel.
The Wii System will now have a ?SYSTEM DATA IS CORRUPT" error message but do not worry.
Step 8: Turn off the Wii System. Turn it on then hold the reset button to launch into Preloader.
When the Preloader menu comes up go to ?Launch the Hombrew Channel? in the menu list.
Now go to Preloader .29 Installer and install it again.
After it reboots you System Menu should come up as normal and you are finished with the guide.
After following the instructions and reinstalling the preloader .29. All I get is the same screen ?SYSTEM DATA IS CORRUPT" and it is all jumbled up in the main window. I can hold the reset and go to the HBC but no systemmenu. What happened? Is this fixable?
