If you mean UPEC, Then yes gradually like they did with N2.
S*y via Sat use NDS, never been hacked full stop.
sorry mate s*y has been hacked but i dont know wheather the chap still has the box or not!
how it was done was a friends of mine, his dad was in spain last year and a dealer on a stall sold him a box that he said was for s*y only, for i think ?50 and how it worked was he pluged the box in to his s*y box and it sends a signal from the dogey 1 to the s*y 1 and fools the system to think its hooked up to a house phone, and he was getting access to all channels, (thats the best way i can explain it)
and that was still going strong 6 months ago until i had a fall out with my mate, so i cant give an update if it is still working today cos they {s*y} were sending out new cards themselfs around the time we had our arguement
also when i was talking to my ex-mates dad about the box he said the chap on the stall he got it from said he makes the boxes up himself,
another thing about this box was the size, it was the same size as a modem/router.
ps:1 thing i did forget to put in was when the boxes were connected it asked for a pin, which he got of his card the last 3 digits.

Any idea if there could be a fix for the sv4 or would it be more likely a new box?

Its some sort of software, but not for cable boxes, so be warned dont try to put it on, as not only will all your movie and sports be gone, so will your box. IT will be dead.

Hey lads, maybe a bit of good news a buddy of mine in UK on N*L lost his movies and Sport last week, so maybe UK has also gone to Nag 3. Hopefully that will focus some serious work on getting a fix. Fingers crossed.

My movies and sport are working fine here in the UK so it's not a nag3 issue.

Post subject: Latest N3 Update (Aug 2009)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
While there are many rumors flying around regarding the future of FTA and the status of the VS Coding team I can assure you the VS Coders haven't given up and are making progress each week. They recently made some good progress and getting closer to making VS users very happy. The team working on N3 are working very hard and are very determined as well as confident they will make a major breakthrough. Unlike many rumored claims that the VS Coders are trying to buy their way to glory or waiting for others to hack N3, I can assure you this is not the case and that they are doing this in house. A whole new group was formed specifically to tackle N3 and their confidence of making an N3 stand-alone solution a reality is why the VS Coding team has not gone nor will go the way of the internet key sharing. There is no exact time when this N3 solution will be ready but I can say they are very close now.

Sounds promising but we can't verify the credibility of the source.
Its a waiting game like others have said already - it may happen, it may not - it may be soon, it may not be.
I personally refuse to give anymore cash to the cable firms - so looks like the local pub will get my money at certain hours of the week - typically around kick off!
Fingers crossed these whizz kids can do us a favour - we'll all be eternally grateful if they can.......

If as you say mmds is still on N1, then all you have to do is get an mmds aerial and put it up.
There is lots of mmds coverage in the cities because there are lots of estates where the developers would'nt pay ntl to put in their cables.
Look at the roof of houses and you will see lots of mmds aerials.
The magic bit is you don't even need a " basic connection" as it's all though the air.
Note that the home mux is on a different frequency on mmds so a re scan will be needed.

N** MMDS is also on Nagra3 so that will be a waste of time and money, the only MMDS on Nagra1 is Cho***.

Lets face it - we've had it good for so long - but now the bad times are here, problably to stay! Looks like its "subscribe" or miss out, go to pub or miss out - but watching in the comfort of your own home has died & gone!
RIP sta*view & all them others....

You'd also need to buy an MMDS box as well though.. ?
