Hello Ladies and Gents
I have a Eurovox Model EX5000PVR...Most of the chanels have gone and the remaining ones are freezing badly...Anybody know if there is a software update avilable please????

I was watching the racing channel Friday and the presenter advised viewers to make sure they changed to the new card sent out by sky or they would not be able to get the station from Monday,I reckon this is sky and not nt*'s doing (just a thought)

Hi people,
I have just today got my Eurovox EX1000 SL through the post.
I just came on here to find out about flashing the firmware and am reading these latest posts in horror! Am I correct in thinking you are saying that my box is not going to do the job for me :( I was hoping for sports and movies!!!

It is if your on ntl cable ireland, if your in the UK it will work fine.

Sorry I am a bit new to all of this! Surely if Ireland is now blocked the UK will be any day now?

I don't know where abouts in ireland you are, but if you are anywhere near the south west then I would give up TV to be there instead of the UK!! I love the south west of ireland :)

Hi vintymac,
There is no problem with the TBN file, i already downloded it but the RAR file, how do you downloaded it on the EX7000. One more thing when i try to scan the EX7000 it will reach till 129/0 then it will reboot again. anyway i will get my null modem and will try to download thru this. Any additional info.

Hi pinoy,
the file must be opened on to the usb stick, but not in rar form. Use Winrar to extract it the usb stick. Then go to menu, go along the top of screen to USB and load from there. A pain and a rigmarole, but you will get there.

hi fellas, just wondering if you could offer me a peice of advice.
Just recently got the Eurovox EX1000SL, connected it all up good and proper. Turned it on and the blue light came on fine.
During the scan for channels though it just turns itself off and stays on the red light. Regardless of how many times i turn it off by the mains or press the power button on the remote.
This was 2 days ago, and i tried it again today and had the same problem whilst doing a "Power Scan"
Is there a way to fix it or should i just return it?
And is this is a common problem with the EX1000SL?

did you flash the new firmware on your box for it to work?
also press menu press ok for language settings then press 1968 another thing will appear called emulator make sure its enabled and press the red button to save,
but your box should not be turning off by its self, make sure none of the buttons are stuck!

I am new to the forum and have just read your very informative post BUT is all this still relevant ? Will this still work and for how long ? the reason i am asking is because of what is happening in Ireland. Is it still worth purchasing Eurovox or am i better of buying a different type of box ? someone suggested a (Linex Box) ?
