Originally posted by beliol: I'm having the same problem. It doesn't seem to be a problem with the Comm ports as I've reset those. It all started when I tried to put the new firmware on last night. My null cable etc. had worked perfectly plenty of times before. The fix was almost loaded when it said the download had failed and now I've got a blank box. Instead of saying "Version 2.10" in Step four of the upload now, it simply says "COM2..." which is the com port I have my null cable set to. Clicking Start brings up a boot mode window saying "The receiver was not detected..." and gives four com port options 1 - 4. I select 2 and hit OK but then it just gives me a window stuck on "Waiting for the response of your receiver..." I've tried almost everything (unplugging and plugging back in the box etc.) but nothing works so far. Short of trying it on another PC does anyone have any solutions? Getting desperate here!
Are you just using a null modem cable or a USB adapter aswell? also in device manager if you are using a USB adapter is it showing when you plug it in.
If your using just a null modem cable what is com number does it show under in device manager for serial ports, you will see it when you click on the + at the side of com/ports.
Edit.Very well Malachi LOL ;) the calm before the storm I think. speak in a bit.

I would like to say thank you to you for taking the time to do that, and the same best wishes for the festive season, but can I just say my name is not Malachi honestly, I am aware that is a reasonably popular name - iterpretation over in Ireland, but it is no bother. ;)
EDIT- Afternoon Hiteck mate, hope you are well, I am only here for half hour or so, its panto time - he's behind you and all that for the young ones. ;)

Not sure if this has been covered here but maybe someone can help.
I have a Eurovox Max V and have gone through the firmware upgrading process and searched for channels between 290.00 & 420.00MHZ (6.887 Symb Rate). Previously it was coming up with 13 channels from the scan giving me c.140 tv stations and c.30 radio.
Since the new firmware is installed I am only getting 5 channels from the scan and only c.40 tv stns and 15 radio. I have tried a Deep Scan but to no avail.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Try your subbed box to rule out any CC problems.

OK thanks for the response
I might give the phonecall to VM a miss ;-/
I'll wait till I get there and if my second VM box does fail I'll just get another EV to replace the 2nd box
(Just find the VM boxes handy for things like catch up TV and have got used to having my genuine one which I will keep and a second unsubscribed VM box) Guess I'll have to get out more
Ah! well! there's always the Champions League
CYA HiTeck and thanks again

Yeah it was a kopite also tryin' to wind up a manc.
BTW their stock answer anyway is that you can NEVER use a VM box anywhere unless it was activated by their own engineer. Funny that - with my second unsubbed VM box ;-)
Cheers again CYA
