no i tried it again there, and this was one of the fist flashes i went to when the box stopped working, the software used to instantly recognise the box now i have to choose ports, and tried a whole series of combintions with power cycles to no avail.

Try the reset button inside the box, with the box turned off start the UFL by pressing download, press the reset button and hold (Be careful where you put your fingers as your board will be live once powered up!), turn your box on then release the reset button.

yeah i think ill try to jtag it, have you a schematic of where to connect the pins on the pcb, i have mocked up a jtag from a parallel port cable but cant find a good schematic to work from i tried one earlier here http://www.freewebs.com/jtagg/
but cant figure out the pins i cant find the location on the pcb of where to start it looks like a different component he is working from
i just tried a box 2 box there
it stated on the host box that the software was not fit for the opposite.??

Downloaded the Dublin CDF. Has not worked. I am still only getting the same channels that I was before.
A funny thing though is that when I go into info it tells me the level and quality are both 8%. When I plug out the NTL lead the level and quality is still at 8%???
Any ideas?

hi folks, great thread.. loads of info... but before I manage to fry my Euro Vox can someone answer some of these simple (well when you know the answer they are :-)) questions please. A mate installed the euro vox and I know very little about it only I get loads of channels.
Some info.
I have a euro vox tx... looks fairyly new like the 2008 model but dont know the actual model. The firmware is tx_23_11_07

OK sorry for the intro but heres the problems and a few questions
1) All was working well and now I keep getting Data Updating message on the channels. I re-scanned them, picked 120 up but can only see a few RTE for example. The rest show the message.
2) OK... Is this because the signals have been re-scrambled or something.
3) If so, do I need to update the firm ware each time this happens or do I have to only update it with new codes?
4) Is the Key Data the code and where do I few the new codes for my areas. I tried some links but couldnt get access.
5) How often do the signals scramble.
6) Can the euro vox download keys on its on..ie maybe another model
7) Whats the latest firmware number for the TX and best place to get it.
Thanks for all the helpfull posts. I just want to be sure before I press the Return Key...DUH!

5, No set time, the last time this happened was in april earlier this year.
6, Yes once the firmware is released and you have installed it on your box. Other versions of the eurovox are already working fine in Ireland but not for your box.

Does your neighbor have the same box as you or are they subscribed and paying for them stations and they aren't working.

Thanks for the help HiTech. I,m going to give it a go tomorrow once I get the proper rs232 leads. Yeah dont read into the 'just in case' statement... I had a nice big smiley at the end. I,m only poking a bit of stick at myself for posting lets say... naive material. The 'just in case' was in case I was stupid enough to do something similar - duh! I'll be a bit more carefully in the future.
Great forum thought.... and once again much appreciated. I'll post and let you know how I got on... the instructions are great on the first page.... oh come to mention why is the TX not on the front page along with the Euro Blue, Red etc >

Uk went down around three weeks ago so the fix had been brought out, when Ireland went down the fix for the UK worked for Ireland. Because only people from certain parts of Ireland use those receivers there has been no fix as of yet, once its out it will be posted on page 1.

HI Guys
I've been on a few times before about trying to flash my Eurovox Max, I don't know which colur it is, I've downloaded a red UFL, and nothing happend, so I tried the Blue one. I got a message saying that it wasn't a windows file. any help would be apapreciated, as I am without good TV viewing for 2 days now.
Havent got a clue wat to do

red box =8 vents on the tuner,tuner is measured from the rf in where your coaxil go's in,blue=12 vents,you must check and see if you have a genuine or clone blue if its a blue check in HERE

Hi I hope sombady can help I got eurovox ultra box but no I need a code to unlook it I live in Ireland and seamly NTL blooked all the boxess and I need a code to make it work again and I need somebody to tell me step by step how to do it.Please can somebody help me out. I would like to have it done for Christmas so the kids can woch TV only thing I get on it is RTV1 2 Music canals and Nes canals.I hope I dis this corectly this is fers time a did this.Wishing you all great Chtristmas and hipe to hire from you.

If you read HiTecks excellent guide, link in my sig you will find what you need to do.

If you have a look on page one of this thread, you will see there is a fix for the 8% problem (it has its own name!!). See how you get on with that and maybe you will be sorted
