ya wont get blocked on your BB as that is agains the law for them to do that what they would do is the ip your router uses to connect to the box would be stopped it wont stop you using your bb and that will be as far as they can go its like them blocking torrent sites your only blocked from accesing that site nothing else
myself i would not be worried its like having a box and taking a risk ;)
right people im offski talk to ya all tmorrow hopefully the sun will shine night all :-)

If you bought a TV from Comet and then went into Currys for support, what do you think they would say?
@jammo2002 - I get good feedback from paying customers as well, I do keep it confidential though, I don't post on forums who my customers are
if that is the case why come here at all and why should you not help others regardless if they are sold by competitors or not you dont see them on here giving it loads so maybe it would have been wiser to say nothing instead of saying what you did
And we are not talking about shops here we are talking about forums where you are posting im sure if they had forums im sure there members would not say ohh if ya bought from currys im not helping you on yer bike.
ok i might like Kryptview because i think they have the best support but i still help out others as well regardless of it been digivox eurovox replay starview i dont say feck you did you buy a kryptview if ya did not your not getting my help
people expect the truth regardless if it hurts sales tell it as it is you will get better results if people want to buy your boxes great if they go off well you where up straight and honest with them but dont go fooling them as they wont come back if your straight ok you might lose some but a lot of people like starview and wont change but they will if you mislead them you wont get them back
You started all this after I posted that IMO, the Starview6 was better than the Kryptview, then you came in lying and making false accusations. People do expect the truth, when I review boxes I give an honest opinion, unlike you, I do not trash a box that I do not sell.
You have been constantly trashing the Starview for doing things very similar to what Kryptview do, then you admit to never even trying a Starview.
I have caught you out in lies before and no doubt will again and no matter how many people on here support you, I will stick by my opinion that the Starview is better featured than the Kryptview. People can easily see the features and make their own mind just look through other forums and don't just listen to rumours.
This last paragraph is very appropriate, I suggest that in future you follow your own advice, the last 2 pages of posts here have been you trashing the competition and me saying that both are very similar - just be honest for a change

Hooter - did you have the A750 already? Just wondering why you didn't go for 780?
I was on to Mash a week or two ago re: thr DW800 HD & whilst I didn't get a definitive 'yes' we are working on it the preception I got was that they're trying to get the other 2 (A750 + iConnect and A780) working in Ireland first & then they'll focus on the HD.
It's tempting to just submit & get the A780 but I'm resisting & holding out for the HD. Will be worth it in the end I reckon.
Fingers crossed.

your right hooter, not sure if i should dare be asking a question as a newbie
we all rely on the seniors and addicts are lot as we know some basics but can easily be out of our depths with the jargon and setting up things
i had not visited the thread for a few days but have found the last few pages fascinating, especially seeing the pictures and set up instructions for the first time
but guys, arguing the toss and throwing accuasations around confuses the hell out of us, tell us the pro's and cons in a fair way
i get this new way round n3 and it sound great, i get the broadband connection thing but the questions in my head that i have had a while now is how do the people doing these sites do it, do we know them, are they reliable, if the site closes do we just wait for them to start somewhere else, will we then need to re-flash, if they are phsically closed down like i read somewhere abroad is that it ??

You've asked quite a few questions there & the overall answer is that no-one can be sure that anything will last...
The cable companies obviously want to shut things down as broadly as possible (hence the rollout of Nagra3).
What you saw over the last few pages shouldn't change your opinion.
You need to assess your current situation & decide which solution is best for you.
You'll never be told how the solutions/fixes are configured, especially in an open forum as the cable providers have just as much access here as you or I.
So you'll have to make a decision & bear the risk.
There are no sites you speak of - there are servers which form part of the solution. If service is disrupted you should contact whoever you bought your box off for support. Usually suppliers will be trying to find a fix & depending on how long it takes you may need to wait...
The overall point is - look around the web, check this site & read the posts & make your own mind up, the responsibility is with you not the senior guys on here. Most will always be very obliging & will help you if you have a genuine problem & have at least attempted to fix it yourself based on the info available. You've got this far to ask questions so spend a bit of time doing your own research & make sure you're happy.
The choice is yours.

there is always a risk involved in every aspect of buying something that is not from your provider and yes boxes from time to time need to be reflashed because of updates etc.
you are not meant to know the people that sell these boxes you purchase a box you pay your money your box is delivered you set it up it works if something happens yes they try and fix it ok sometime it takes a little longer than antisapated
but if you want a sure fire way of not getting cut off not having to update i suggest you either take a sub out from your provider or get sky in otherwise you take a chance like everyone else

Well said.
And the more research & reading one does on the subject the more informed (obviously) one will be.

thanks for replying guys, it is always appreciated
i discounted cs a while ago whilst reading posts as it seemed that compliacted my head was hurting
my eldest hasn't stopped whining since n3 arrived in our area but the others have been ok so far, may go down the sub route for 6 months or so for the basic channels and see what happens then to see how these new boxes go (will have to do without me sports though!!!!)
i know the prices of these new boxes/connectors are a lot more than my little sv clove all those years ago but i think the main thing for me as a newbie in making my mind up is the support on sites like this with problems and quueries when they crop up so keep up the good work
i'll say again it is all appreciated

Yes I suppose the price of the cable subs has probably also increased though.
What makes this site & others like it is the valued input & assistance donated by the senior members & others who can share & offer advice based on their experiences.
Whatever you decide on will always be a decision with some element of risk, but you can be better informed & prepared for any problems/risks based on what you find here & on other forums.
I like you, had also discounted c/s & was looking into the sat route but it doesn't work for me so am glad of the cable developments & the assistance given.
Where there's a will there's a way!!!

starview.6 not the hd, for some reason there seems to be more problems with some of them at the moment
maybe its because ive always had the starview
but read up on both boxes and dont let others decide for you (krypt or starview)
if you just even read back as far as 2 pages you will get every pro and con about both boxes :)

Been keeping up with the SV6 and the KV a780. But I think it all comes down to this 12 month time restriction on the SV6(True or not). Which has the best EPG, SV6 or a750?
Is the EPG on the SV6 the same as it was on all previous Starviews? I never liked it.

im not sure some say its true some say its a rumour
best epg it depends on the individual for the way you like the epg
yes its sort of similar to the starv-usb but a bit different it has a 7day epg you can download but i never tried it
to me the both tell you whats on they both show you a few hours ahead
and both show you about the film/programme
