ip address conflicts occur if you manually assign ip addresses rather than allowing dhcp assign. mac address conflicts also possible. good point jvob

Use any image that's suitable for dream-500. You can use same image on cable & sat sides
or 2 diff. images. Follow same info for flashing Dream-500. Make sure images are clone-safe. Digital Kaos 1.1 or Pli-Jade-500 are both fine on O/Media boxes. They can be used
on cable & sat sides. Make sure to power-off box when switching from cable to sat.

In network settings on DM500 tick DHCP & ENABLE NETWORK, be sure to save settings.
Try internet add-ons, if Ccam you want is listed it will auto-install cam files in
correct folders on box.
If your box does not connect using DHCP you have IP address conflict.
Check IP addresses of all components connected to your network & manually change
last no. of DM500 IP so it is diff. to other IP addresses on your network.
Un-tick DHCP in network settings on DM500 & save new settings.
If still in trouble post back & Fint or Pio will sort you out.

1. You need a dish pointed at the shy sat (old shy dish will do)
2. you need a dreambox 500s or similiar
3. you need a c:line or cline as there called
4. you need a lan cable coming from your dreambox to your internet router connected at all times.
now you buy these cline lines from many card sharing websites most give you 24 hour trial.
you will get all movies and sports and also in HD if you have a hd reciever.
cardsharing biz is one website but there is many
if you have a sub with shy you can share this to your family and friends and only pay for 1 sub between all of you
this method has been working for years and is faR the best

not sure about the rules on this site about talking about this stuff
mate i got all the stuff you said and got a c/line back in agust and all was going well set my father and brother up to but i was in a contract wit sly 4 past year so put there box up in kids room now my question is if i increese my sub whit sly to full hd all channells and then put dm500s instead of there box and split my sub between my family could you advise on how to do it heard about somtin cald f/line is that installed same as cline ftp i have a belkin roughter and i think a static address s think im halfway there just not sure about all the facts any help would be great thanks

guys somtimes you can download an excellenet image (such as nabilosat darkstar2 for the dm500s) from a poor download site and then the image can be corrupt ,in the event this happens i can provide a good download site for this image.

hi so im in the process of seting up a extenal cs in my brothers house and cant seem to pick up the sly sub channels( which are basic). ive entered an f:line into the sever box, im using dm500v8s. and a c:line into the client box and have a static ip address for my computer, also each dm500 has a different ip address and the router as well and ive disable dhcp on the dm500s, ive opened a port on my router for portfowording and results in pfportfoward says:
cannot ping your router.
your port is open.
i dont know if this is relevant but he has an active sly sub which ends at the end of the month could that interfere with the signal?, also his isp is bt and his router is the white home hub do i need to anything on his end any help on this would be great as you can tell im very new to this and it driving me crazy.tia

didnt have the port set to 12000 in the server box communication setup. noob mistake lol will try again and let you know results

i've looked through the thread but cant find or missed how a 2nd d500s will receive its signal, even if it has been flashed im guessing it needs a signal from the dish.

the server box will have coax cable from dish

will the 2nd internal box need a 2nd coax line from the dish?

i have a dish with a '4 line LNB' and have a flashed d500s already in the house (all channels working).

can someone please answer?

Also if i knew someone with basic sly sub, could i use the boxkey in the d500s and be able to view premium channels or will it only be basic channels?

can someone please respond as im a real novice in this area.

barca im guessing you want to use boxkey from youre friends sly box, that will not work youre friend can share with you but he will need a dreambox or similar to share if i have picked you up wrong get back with more details and yes you will need another lead from dish to 2nd box

as the lads said each box needs its own satellite feed (as you have a quad lnb on your dish thats not a problem for you )as far as the boxkey goes i think you assume that just having a boxkey will get you the pay channels (this is not the case) the boxkey is used to pair the card with the dreambox .click on the last link in my signature area and you will find my tutorial which explains what you need in basic terms.

you say in an earlier post about a mate that has a basic sub (and you enquired about using his boxkey) so i take that to mean you have no card your self ,so i assume your current box that cost £250 included a connection to the server .my question is (if i understand you correctly )are you saying you want to use your current box to share with a second box in the same house ? ,without a card you cant . if your current box has a connection to a server (to give you pay channels )you wont be able to reshare to the second box (as the payserver wouldnt allow it ) but he would (if he is any good at all )sell you a second share at a lower price for box 2.

all i know is the guy does this for locals, so im guessing he prob uses one sub and just flashes a bunch of boxes for whoever pays. isnt there no way i could retreive some info from my box i purchased and input this into another d500s, and somehow bypass this payserver. like i mentioned b4 im a novice in this field so pls have some patients with me.

i see by your comments i have understood you correctly ,a server (to be correct a payserver) is just that a payserver (pay being the operative word) they want money .if these guys gave everyone an open share they could share to 1 person or 100 people then then the payservers wouldnt make any money. so they sell 1 share to one person per box ,however they will usally sell a person a second share (if they are any good) at a lower price.

the best option is always to have your own card and your own server ,if that is possible ,then you are in charge of the shares you give.
