I've been following this thread for several months and I've set up my DM500S clone for cardsharing. I've flashed it with a pli jade image and installed cc**m. Its working very well. I'm using the s*y dish that's still up from my old s*y subscription days. I've even moved the dish over to hotbird and picked up all channels.
Now what I would like to do is install a motorised dish. Can anyone answer the following please?
Will a motorised dish work with a clone DM500S?
Will the satellite move automatically when I switch between satellites and how does it know where to move to?
Can anyone recommend a motorised dish package. Does this one look OK?
Your help is much appreciated,
Steve

Have just got a problem with a couple of the boxes.
So every so often after a hard power off I have to reflash the boxes, not a problem.
Then find the channels, not a problem.
Then upload the CCcam.cfg shown below
SERVER LISTEN PORT : 12000
C: 192.168.1.113 12000 root114 root114
The server CCcam.cfg is shown also
SERVER LISTEN PORT : 12000
SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY : /dev/sci0 3430000
BOXKEY : /dev/sci0 xx xx xx xx
F: root101 root101 3 1 1 { 0:0:3 }
F: root100 root100 3 1 1 { 0:0:3 }
F: root101 root101 3 1 1 { 0:0:3 }
F: root110 root110 3 1 1 { 0:0:3 }
F: root111 root111 3 1 1 { 0:0:3 }
F: root113 root113 3 1 1 { 0:0:3 }
F: root114 root114 3 1 1 { 0:0:3 }
F: root115 root115 3 1 1 { 0:0:3 }
So now I've only one slave box working on the home plug network (114)
The other ones can get online (check the forums through the box) but say the master is offline?
I thought it might be the plugs but I've swapped the working slave for a non working slave and the working one stays working.
Any suggestions lads??
Thanks
Gary
hi gary i think i see what ur problem is as i have had a similar problem when you create ur cccam.cfg in ur server box it looks to me like ur setting all ur boxs to reshare which then when ur first box connects blocks the server from sharing to more boxes so all you need to do is redo ur cccam.cfg and select no reshare if this helps let me no as its the first time i have tried to help and im fairly new myself sorry for butting in fint

dan, don't even think of it. we all live and learn. but reshare levels are not the issue. you can offer reshare to the nth level. the issue is that gary is seeing zero cards. usually this is an internet failure, either at client or at server but when both are local then i suspect cline is not corresponding with fline. having said that piopat put out a really useful post on how mac address clashes can cause havoc on an internal network. so i think gary has to do a bit of reading. and dan i for sure don't know everything. we are just here as a forum, not an individual, to help users.

Im thinking about setting up the card sharing with dreambox 500 but it seems to be pretty difficult. What are the odds on encountering problems I wonder? I am aware to everyones credit on here that all problems are eventually sorted. If I follow instructions carefully and methodically hopefully I wont be here asking loads of questions....

dan, had a rethink on what you said and now that you say it i do remember i had to remove
the stuff in brackets after the username and password to get my internal share to work. i also had to remove the 'no' at the end of the cline. gary, give it a go and see if it helps

jhammer02.
Use home plugs, connect one into router, and the other into your 600.
these units come in pairs, and can be had from maplins or peats, or you can get them on ebay, I bought a pair for 80euro, and another on ebay for 50 including postage, so look around before buying.I think this the info you are looking for.

Hubabuba Thanks
This is a good idea, but I was wondering is there a way to install a wifi on the box so that it connects to the wifi router wirelessly?

For those who have been following the never ending conclusion to the 800 box
they have finalybroke off communication with me, with no result, other than pay the charges to have the unit sent back, its cheaper to buy a new tunar, as i think that is the problem. So BEWARE of buying from "DREAMINTHEBOX".
And just to add I thought i was secure with paying by PAYPAL, again beware that Irish buyers are not covered by their insurance when you receive a broken item, having spoken to their rep, she informed me that the warranty does not cover Ireland at this time but may in the future, which begs the question why pay by PAYPAL? when you are not covered,your warranty covers only the EU. They dont tell you this when you are paying.
Halloween is coming, so beware of the "Gowls" that want your hard earned cash.
Not to knock PAYPAL to much i'm pretty sure they give good service to people, I just had a bad experience with them and "DREAMINTHEBOX".

guys two questions some body might know the answers to, 1- in the dcc do the router and dreambox have to have the same ip, i have have 2 different numbers but am getting a fully green network ok and secondly i use a scart to scart that is giving some problems, the tv has 2 hdmi connections and the dreambox has a dvi, i was wondering is it possible to use a dvi to hdmi instead of scart.

well the router should give all your devices a seperate ip (and your router will also have its own ip) so its strange that you have network ok .you can get a dvi to hdmi cable should work fine.

thanks again for coming to the rescue again piopat.just to clarify the dvi from dreambox to hdmi in tv is ok instead of scart to scart, and address of my dreambox and router should they be identical. the reason i ask this particular question is so on another dreambox that is up and running they are identical and everything is ok

the ips should be different on all your devices ,2 ips the same will cause a clash. the thing to watch out when buying any cable is to first check the connector on the box example (is it male or female ,i assume you know what that means ) so if the connection on the box is female you will need a male dvi to hdmi cable.google dvi to hdmi and you will see lots of stuff about it.

When I go to communication setup of dm600 the all dots are red next to the ip, gateway, dhcp etc. But when I test it all turn to green. Then if I save it all turn red. My internet is running fine. I have tried to put the network cable back to the box, scanned channels again but nothing is working, I am not able to connect to the box via my laptop for ftp. Please help!!!

Evening folks
Hope you are all well. I've been spending this evening setting up two dreambox 500s boxes on my home LAN. The server box is online, with correct cccam config file, etc. The problem occurs with the second one upstairs.
It powers on fine, and I can see the Gemini page on the TV screen. BUT as soon as I connect the ethernet cable, my Motorola VM modem starts flashing (send/recieve) and is unable to reconnect to Internet until I disconnect the cable from the client dreambox.
What is going on?

likely the network cable you use is
1/ crossover cable
2/ faulty
new cable required in either case

What is going on?
could possibly be an ip adress conflict
