Just plugs into your router, no Port forwarding needed.
Connection must be constant also.

Cheers

Pricey, maybe look at a full subscription, thats pricey. However would love to know who is supplying the server. Is the user not allowed to know who is supplying the service

why would you want to know that.
the only thing you need to know is it works.think most would want to keep the server details private.

Hi guy's,

can anyone confirm that the Starview 6 is currently working in Ireland ? And also it would be great if someone could send me a pm and point me in the right direction to a site that currently has them in stock ready to ship.

I've been buying Starview's 2,3 and 4's from a UK site and since January they were telling me they were waiting for the Starview 6 to arrive and if I wanted to Pre order, I didn't. Now they say they have them in stock but they are putting me off buying one, they say the servers could go down anytime. Seems very strange that they have them in stock, well so they say but they are actually putting me off buying one.

I was going to go down the satellite C/S route but I "Could" hopefully be moving house soon so I don't want or need the hassle so a plug and play would suit me down to the ground.

So starview 6 currently working in Ireland ?

Thanks

well to be honest you answered your own question .

i think the dealer that you are wanting to buy the sv6 box/boxes from is been honest with you they could do down at any time and most will likely will .

if i was in irl/uk and wanted to go the c/s way on cable instaed off sat then i would wait untill the rsa keys became public are how you get them became public. that way you will be able to use the dreambox are silmaer version and share between friends are switch between servers. but if you go the sv6 way if they go down then you will have another doorstop.

i do know off people that have the rsa keys for upc irl but at the minute they keeping them private. they have been offered to traders for sale . seems they are very hard to get and wont be given for free .

and as you know the more that people rurn to sat c/s mainly uk sat you know who. more than likey they will clamp down on it so cable c/s will be all that's left unless off course we all get bigger dishs and watch euro sats .

and before any one says anything just saying what ive been told.

Thanks for the responses.

I guess like most are saying the reliability of the server
is the biggest issue.

From viewing other cs sites that offer this service via sat if
there are too many people on the server it cant cope with the amount
of people trying to use it.

The amount of times these servers go down seems to be quite regular.

I wonder how many servers there are going to be to cater for thousands of people?

see that will be one off the main problem how many boxes will sv sell in irl how many full subbed cards do they have how fast is there upload speed how fast is there server, do they have a back up server with another load off full subbed cards incase those ones get killed . do they give a fook after the box sales slow to a tickle.
a lot off things to think about

remember they are out to make money not to give you free tv the free tv days are gone you will pay one way are the other ie c/s are buying a sv are diff kind off box that does the same.

Well going on previous comments about them they are indeed 100% working. The big unanswerable question is for how long.
