Mickah, I've read eamo's post a few times just to be sure what he is saying. i have absolutely no doubt what he says is correct. lets be honest. we in afterdawn are not unobserved (on this i am not paranoid, i am realistic). over and over i have pointed out that i do not support illegal services. so lets clarify. i pay for a fully legal service. what i do with that service is just a bit of playing about. i suspect i fall under the radar a bit on that basis. however commercial servers are a different game. and eamo is correct that such behaviour will be monitored. i suspect that linux will no longer be an issue on n3 but i would be very concerned for those using a public sv6 share. it is just a bit too obvious and it is not playing, it is using a commercial share, always a dangerous game. being realistic, if that share was shut down tomorrow all IP addresses would be available for viewing as the client list. not good.

Think boxes working on cho*us aerial only, not chorus cable.
Point in share on U*C cable is no need for ugly sat-dish on front of house.
If users don't post probs how can they seek help.
Further point about cable-share is basic subscription required, giving provider some
income and so remain in business

DO POST, so users know probs are widespread & not just their box.
U*C have SVU-6 & linux boxes connected & KNOW EXACTLY what's going on.
Sorry Eamo, but am still a bit fuzzy on the above mate, how do you know they have linux boxs working?

Sure they where getting an income when the dodgy boxes where out in the first place as people still had to pay for a min sub that is not the point they are only paying a fraction of what they should be paying that is the point UPC are looking at that is why the new encryption was purchased.

So server or no server you are still depriving the provider of revenue.

And as the forums are been monitoring as we all know so what is the point in doing their work for them let them work it out for themselves thats what they get paid for

Yes working fine, just hook up box to router, connect U*C cable as normal.
Flash box with correct firmware, & follow instructions came with firmware.
Choose AUTO_CONNECT option in menu to connect box to server.
Screen will display CONNECTED under ch. name when server connection is successful
If screen shows NOT connected try OFF/ON with power to router.
Am in your area, PM me if you have problem.

No leicester was transfered over to Nagra3 yesterday so there is no more free Tv you will have to subscribe to either virgin or sky.

There is no fix for this Ireland have been without free Tv since August 2009 with no fix either

Eamo, ok maybe chokus is still free in ireland, not for much longer. uk is also getting closed down. in both cases its was all thanks to systems that did not require a card inserted in the tv receiver. what we can look forward to is a system where a valid subscription is a requisite. then its a bit of knowledge on how to share it. so the day of the chipped boxes is over. The sv6 solution is unique and i find it unlikely that it will last long. to be honest i dragged the sv6 answer out of mickah some time back and now i am sorry i did. as mickah said at the time it was personal message stuff but i pushed him on it. in reflection i was wrong about that, while it may have helped a lot of users, it raised awareness of something that didn't need the limelight. linux continues to live due to a huge development community. By all indications satellite providers will have their hands full to come up with a security measures that will finally break the back of this game

Linux boxes in the cable world will also be dead in the water after N3 is fully implemented
