dont think anything has changed, the HD wont be getting new firmware so best wae new box or CS yer Combo

Hi all, I have a problem with my sv6.It has been working fine with new firmware until 2 days ago. Now have no chanels other than the normal bbc,itv etc.Have factory reset 3 or 4 times, scanned, 1819 all the norm as I did before but no sky chanels etc. Have checked all internet, works fine, computer picks up internet no problem. Does not pick up IP address on auto had to put it in manually. Took the box to mates house and connected the box up [ has same box ], his IP address came on automatically but still had no chanels on the box. Both houses the box says Not Connected. Anyboby shed any light on the problem, much appreciated.

set the ip back to AUTO again, then turn OFF both your SV6 & ROUTER (make sure you turn off the sv6 at the back by black switch). After 2 mins, turn ON ROUTER first, then after 30 seconds turn on your sv6.
had a similar problem at my friends, did this and worked.

No good still not picking up the IP. Cant work out why it picked up my mates address but not mine. But still the problem of chanels not working in either house.

if its not connecting, you wont get any encrypted channels like sly sports. can you view bbc1 bbc2? cos you should be able to view those two as they not encrypted.
try a new ethernet cable?
make sure both ends of the cable (sv6 & router ends) are securely connected?

The normal cable chanels are fine bbc etc, so no problem with the cable connection, have used another ethernet cable , the one from computer so I know that works. Was wondering if the problem is with the box itself, or the internet, like I said mates connection picks up IP straight away but not chanels, mine not pick up either. The main thing is my mates connections are working fine so my box may be at fault, but what exactly.

it might be worth flashing the box once again m8, with the new firmware, try this;
Unzipped firmware:

1: Remove Ethernet cable from sv6
2: Load the new showmustgoon 2 firmware
3: After the sv6 has rebooted, Reset the sv6 to Factory Default
4: Scan for channels from main fead, do not change any settings(do not connect LAN yet)
5: Connect Ethernet/LAN to sv6 (give it 30 seconds)
6: Go to a encrypted channel like sly sports 1, press 1819 on Remote, should say enable
7: if after 2 mins, channels dont work, then turn off sv6 at the back, then after 2 mins turn on again.

Will give it a go, There are 2 upgrades 1 says S/W Upgrade the other says Boot loader Upgrade I cant remember if both or 1 of these is used for the firmware.

Thanks Gerrard, has just come on now,still had to put in IP manually and turn the box off 4 times but got there in the end. Thanks again for your time.

if there is new firmware always load it to your box, it may not give more chans, but may offer stability

Only if you reside in the Uk it will your Sv4 is for the scrap heap m8 never work again
