CloneDVD & DVD Shrink Taking over 24 hours to...

I have been using DVD Decrypter & CloneDVD for awhile now. DVD decrypter still appears to be working fine for me. It takes approximately 15 minutes to run through a movie. Where I'm running into problems is with CloneDVD. It would normally take a short period of time to burn a movie to disc. It is now taking over a 24 hours period to happen. I have not let it run all the way through yet. I have let it run for an hour or two to see if the time remaining would change drastically. I tried using dvd shrink to see if it was a problem with clonedvd. I'm having the same results with that. Any help on this would be appreciated.

Could you give us some details about your system?
Have you made changes to it recently (hardware, software, updates,...)?
When did you last defragment your hard-drive?

I have never refragged the hard drive. The PC is approximately 3 months old. It's a Intel Celeron 2.8 ghz, 512 DDR Ram, 80 gig hard drive. I have not done any major updated or upgrades to it. What else do you need to know?

I will try that when I get home tonight. I know that it is always good to do anyway. How do you think that this will help with the problem however?

It could be that your hard-drive is so fragmented that it considerably lengthens the time it takes DVD Shrink and CloneDVD to access and write the data.
Only a guess though. ;)

I defragged the hard drive last night. I also ran a disk checkup and repaired any sectors that might have been bad. I'm now up and running smooth. Thanks for all of your help.

I found that works wonders to defrag often, also if possible add another hard drive ;>)
