error in dvd shrink & dvd decrypter

this is the first time i've posted in a forum its taken me some time to pluck up the courage!
i'm a total newbie i have managed to copy a few films but now i have come up with a problem

i use dvd shrink i open disc when it starts analysing i get the following message
'copy protection error'
'the read failed because sector is encrypted'
then i can go no further.
in dvd decrypter i get
'copy protection key exchange failure' & authentification failure.

i have lite on and run with xp
can any one help?

For which movie? I just posted something about copy protection error on Mean Girls and Bad Santa, but I used Decrypter to rip to my hard drive, then used DVD Shrink. I'm surprised Decrypter couldn't rip it. You may want to update your versions of both and try again.

If it is just happening with one movie your problem most likely lies in the original DVD being dirty or scratched. Try another Movie
