Hello everybody...

I recently purchased a Plextor 708a dvd writer. After reading and learning about how to back up movies at Afterdawn, I started using DVD Shrink together with DVD Decrypter. First couple of weeks everything was great. But two days ago i noticed that my analysis, encoding and writing times were getting longer and longer. First I thought it was my DVDs, then my blank media and then software and now I am worried about my hardware??? I noticed the buffer rate jumping up and down during DVD Decrypter's writing screen. I think in the past it was steady and I was able to see the "estimated time" for completion. My DVD writer has 2MB buffer. The buffer rates go back and forth between 2% and 88%. It almost changes every second.

I will try to post screen shots of the problem. But I wonder if anybody has experienced such thing or have ideas for a cure.

Also, I have PlexTools. But really don't know its benefits(?) Does it help me optimize my DVD writer's performance?
