I had the same problem when trying to back up with shrink. I selected RE-AUTHOR and dragged the movie over and it copied it just fine.

Heya
I had same probs as all you have posted and am too much of a newb to do the insert file fix so heres what worked for me.

Use VobBlank to copy all files from REZ 2 disc into a folder on your HD. Then use DVDShrink (open files from folder you saved files to using VOBBlank) to create a ISO to be burned with DVDDecrypter. Burn ISO with DVDDecrypter and wallah! perfect burn.
Hope this helps!

I fixed my problem with getting the movie to start and getting sound by changing the "start frame" in Shrink. I moved forward in time to just before the first picture begins to appear. Then I made another backup and burned at 2.4x (to be safe). This backup is perfect!!!

Thank you to everyone who provided their small (or large) piece of this puzzle!

According to my sources, the next release of Decrypter will have this fix included!!

I finally got RE:A rpped to hd but when i go to use DVD Shrink about half way through it gives me an error that says:

Out Of Memory
Not enough storage is available to process this command.

what does that mean? I have at least 11gigs on the target drive and 20 on the drive with the image on it.
My sys specs are :

P4 2.56ghz, 1 gig ram 2 80gig hard drives. Let me know if there is anymore info needed, thx!

Has anyone tried SmartRipper? Or starting the movie in Power DVD and then SmartRipper or others? Maybe just leave Power DVD playing the movie while a ripper slowly transfers it? Just a thought.

flip218 - I also tried using XRescue and when it showed me over 9,000 minutes where required, I stopped the process. Maybe the post above that took 14 hours was possible, I just didn't have the patience.

I am interested to know how 1VATOLOCO got Rescue to only record the movie (with no extras). I have never figured out how to accomplish that without using the "simple" mode of XCopy 4.0.3

I'm just glad the PSL patch worked! Time to put my original in the fire proof safe...

Well after messing with it all day long I finally got it. I used super DVD copy to pull the vobs to the hard drive. then I moved just the main movie vobs (2_x) to another folder, I then used ifo edit to build new ifo files. I was then able to use shrink on it to get jus tthe movie and strip out the directors commentary. I am now in the middle of watching it on my prismiq.

Thanks for all of your help.

Vobblanker wont work in all cases. I tried it on my disk and it would not work. See the process I went thru above to get it to work. And you dont have to shout.
