I have read most of the posts here in this thread and tried to backup 'Little black Book' & 'RE2'. I've use both super dvd copy and VOB Blanker to rip to hard drive. After which, I use DVD Shrink to compress and burn to disk.
The first one came out good while using super dvd copy. I didn't realize I needed to edited the start and end frame as the movie shows a black screen. But never the less, the movie seems fine during playback.
Unfortuently, I am having trouble ripping with VOB blanker. The files seem to be processed ok without any errors. However, when I use DVD Shrink to compress it, I get a no response error. The software loads up ok both in full-disk & Re-author. When I try to drag files to be copy, the system hangs and the "no response" message pops up.
Is there a patch file I have to install for VOB blanker? Am I suppose to adjust certain settings in VOB blanker? I have heard by using VOB blanker, you can have a working menu. This is the reason why I wanted to use VOB blanker.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance for your replies.

for re-2, all you need is dvd dycryptor with psl patch and DVD Shrink. Go back through the thread and get the psl patch for dycrptor, follow simple instructions and Enjoy!

I copied RE2 with not one problem, on my first try with only decrypter and shrink. Here's my method step by step.
1. make a new text file on your desktop.
2. copy and paste this in the new text file:
PSL
184353-184363
184370-184400
184401-184431
184432-184462
184463-184493
184494-184524
184525-184555
184556-184586
184587-200706
200707-200737
1953828-2084899
2259324-2259354
2259355-2259385
2259386-2259416
2259417-2259447
2259448-2275660
2275661-2275691
4038680-4038749
4038750-4169821
4169840-4169909
3. Name the new file whatever you want. I named mine DVD_VIDEO.PSL
4. open up decrypter
5. under File, go down to Protected Sectors List and select Import.
6. find the text new text document you made on your desktop and open it up.
7. If you don't see the file change the Files of type option to All Files (*.*)
8. Select you file and it should say Protected Sectors List Imported Sucessfully.
9. From here do everything you usaully do.
I hope this helps I didn't need to download any other programs and this worked perfect. If you have any other questions PM me.

This is not the only movie that DVDDecrypter won't beat, there is a new group of codes on new discs.

i HAD the same problems trying to ripp "resident evil apocalypse" & after trying clonedvd2, dvdxcopy, dvdshrink, dualdvd, & more, i was about to give up!
well, i put the disc back in my drive & re-tryed dvdshrink 3.1, my windvd 4 also opened at the same time.
i dont know why or how but dvdshrink read the whole dvd & backed it up! i burned it using dvdclone2.
so, the only clue i have is to let windvd 4 start to play the movie & open dvdshrink & backup the movie!...good luck
