Cant open movie on DVD Shrink plz help

When i go to DVD Shrink and go to open disc and it starts anyalizing the disc and it gets about 3% through and then it says:
******************************************************
DVD Shrink encountered a problem and cant not proceed
Failed to read "D:\"
Data error (cyclic rudundancy check).
*******************************************************
Thats exaclty word for word that comes up.
Thnx for any help!

O man! That movie up there ^^^^^^ was Planes trains and automobiles and now i try to back up another movie (Tommy Boy) and it reads it as Planes trains and automobiles!!! And i couldnt back up planes trains and automobiles! Plz help me! Thank you!

This is everyones biggest problems and 90% of the time it has to do with dirty or scratched disk's. Try ripping the movie to your hard drive with decrypter first. Decrypter is better at handeling faulty disks.
Set up Decrypter as follows; it should be version
3.5.1.0. Go to "Tools", "Settings", set
everything to "Default". Then in the "General"
tab change, "Removal Method" from "Normal" to
"Aggressive", in "File Mode", "tick" Remove
IFO/BUP PUO's." For ripping in the "ISO, Read
Mode", "tick" "Remove IFO/BUP PUO's" there also.
in the "CSS" tab, under "CSS Cracking Method",
choose "Brute Force ~> I/O Key Exchange" and "On
Failure" choose "Yes". . IMPORTANT: In the "I /
O" tab, in the bottom right, "tick" the box which
says, "Ignore read errors". This is an excellent
setting for dealing with lightly scratched discs
which may cause ripping problems.

AAAHHH!! I went ahead with it (tommy boy) and still tried to go through with it and it was calling it trains planes and automobiles when it was really tommy boy and it finished and was @ 100% and then it said in a error box (like one before):
Can not read "D:\"

Nope i didnt work...but imm not sure im doing it right at the begining you said use Decrypter well i did your settings and then i went back to DVD Shrink and opened the disc there...was i supposed to do that? or is there a way i open the disc in Decrypter? O and it thinks any DVD i put in is Planes trains and automobiles and i have tried to back up 3 other DVDs and none of them will work they do the same thing and they all think it Plane trains and automobiles!

First re-start your computer. Then forget about Shrink for a minute and just rip the movie to the HD using Decrypter. Follow my guide here http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/

ok i think i gto it now i backed up the otehr 3 successfully and now im gonna try Trains Planes and Automobiles....if it works do i change the settings back @ decrytper to what they were or do i just leave them the same? Thnx for all the help!

Are you able to rip the movie on your HD with Decrypter? Whaen do you get this error with Shrink?

it comes up when i hit try to open disc/but sometime it will let me open disc but it never lets me hit back up as far as i get on back up is 3%

I recently had this error while trying to backup a disc. I was certain the disc was clean and un-damaged until I took a real close look at it and saw a small hair-line crack along the edge of the disc.

so...i guess what everyone i basiclly sayin is when the disc is messed up er scratched you cant copy.......
