I just asked that question because I did the same thing, I think we have to use dvd decryptor on the files to create a proper iso file (that will be read by the ps2) but not sure I'm waiting for an answer too :p

rite,u can just do a stright back up of the game,so if u rented it out u could back it up by doing a stright back up,or save it on the harddrive by doing a gloabal image using recordmax now

So I did an Iso file of all the stuff that was on the ps2 dvd. Will it work if I burn it ? Will the ps2 run it ?

You can use a program like dvd decrytper to create an .iso image file of your ps2 game onto your hdd. Then, also with DVD Decrypter, you can burn that .iso image file onto a blank dvdr disc.
Now, this backup can be played on your ps2 system, as long as it's either chipped or using a swap method to load it.

Thanks a lot that's what I did :
1. I had the files on my hd
2. I used WinIso to create a iso file
3. I am going to burn the Iso on a dvd and try it on my chipped console.
Hope this works !

Easiest way for me to burn .iso image files is to just use DVD Decrypter. I havent used Nero in a long time, so i havent burnt dvd's with it. But in the wizard it should ask if you want to burn an image, choose that one, not data dvd.

if you dont install a modchip, then you need a swap method like 'Swap Magic'. You cannot burn it, it has to be a legal copy to run on ps2.

Yo ozzyboy45 this is how you use dvd decryptor.
To get the iso off of the disc goto Mode: ISO Read
This puts an Iso image on the hdd. After that you want to burn the iso to disk goto Mode: ISO Write under
source click the folder icon find the Iso file
select your write speed(slowest speed your burner can go)then click hdd to dvd icon and your done.Hopes this works
