Burning Problem with DVD-R but ok with DVD+RW

I having been trying ways to burn ISO images with DVD-R but towards the end, about 90%, it always hit with and error: - Burn process failed at 2x (2,770 KB/s). Can someone enlighten me?
I tried with DVD+RW but completed with no error. Is it media issue?

run them through dvdinfopro, dvd identifier, or use Nero infotool to get the media ID
as for right now, I would say get better quality media

Yah, Im getting the same damn error too. Heres my info.
Burner - Maddog 12x DVD+R+RW Multimedia 6 in 1 burner
Media Using - Nero Burning Rom 6.0
Error - When it gets to 90%, BURN PROCESS FAILED AT 6X(8,280KB/S)

i would make sure your firmware is up to date first and if that doesn't help try different media
alot of people have been having trouble out of the Fuji discs lately and they have quite a few manufacturers making their discs for them now also
i would use a different brand anyway preferably Taiyo Yuden discs like these

Damn just for 5 discs, they want 48 bucks?? oh hell no. I havent even seen this brand around anywhere though, but they must do something really really special if they are 50 bucks for only 5 cd's. I might as well just go and buy the dvd originals if thats the case.
Well, I guess thats a waste of Fujifilm cd's. I also bought some Memorex and Sony 50 packs too. Ill give them a try and see what happens.

no, they are $48 for a spindle of 100 discs
the quantity is for how many spindles you want
if you buy 1-4 spindles are $48 each spindle (100-400 discs)
if you buy 5 or more spindles they are $47 each spindle (500 or more discs)

one other comment i have is that fujifilm dvd's are not bad ! i have burned 300 movies using fujifilms with no problems at all . both of my burners dru500ax and dru710a have worked flawlessly with fujifilms . the above link is for the same brand media that has been suggested to you .

also, why guess at what media you are actually buying when you can be sure of what you are buying from a reputable reseller
i used to think highly of fuji discs until recently when it seems they are letting everyone produce their discs for them
another company called memorex comes to mind :)

im glad i have had good luck fujifilms as it saves me alot of money on media . i use a few different brands of media not only fujifilms .
so are you saying memorex is making fujifilms now ? i have had very bad luck with memorex . i think it would be fair to say memorex are garbage . what i dont understand is if memorex is making fujis than why dont i get failures as i did with memorex media ?
i use verbatim , ritek , and of course fujifilms for all of my backups with great results . if in the future i begin to have problems at that time i will move on to different media . i tend to stick with what works .

Is this INCD a file or program I need to delete/uninstall? What is it and has this corrected issues like this before?
Im leading to the fact that Fugifilm media may be crap and not to use. I had two co-workers here at work just tell me that the best media to use with Nero 6.0 is Memorex and Immation??
Ive never seen this other brand that was mentioned above with the link. Where do you buy this other foreign media dics from the link above? The only media I seem to see in best buy, Office max or depot are the Sony's, Memorex's, Imation, and GQ.

no, they are not making fujifilms. But fuji is starting to have alot of different media codes "like" memorex. in other words, you don't know what media ID you are getting

Memorex is not really junk IF you get the right media code, but that is why people don't like it because it is such a gamble on what quality disc you will get. I personally have had a half spindle of CMC Mag ID Memorex not burn at all. But on the other hand, I have some Prodisc03 Memorex's that are as good as any other brand of disc EXCEPT Taiyo Yuden discs.

dr who , incd is packet writing software that is part of Nero . you dont delete it . you uninstall it.
if you ask around this site you will find that incd is to be removed as it causes problems . incd needs to talk to the burner all the time which messes up the burn process . give it a try . you have nothing to lose . you can always reinstall if it does not correct your problem .

OH, also, this is a side question, but some of you may know how to explain this......
I noticed people putting mp3 files on dvd-r??? Does this mean you can put the DVD-R in any cd player or in your car radio and play longer playing tracks?? Errr, that dont sound right.

uninstalling incd has no down falls . leaving it uninstalled will be fine . you cant play dvds in a regular cd player with mp3s on it . it will not work .

Cool, Ill give this a try and uninstall the file tonight. If it doesnt work, then it could be that maybe my burner is just not liking Fujifilm dics, I guess *shrugs*

Ok, little help here.
I cant seem to find an uninstall feature for INCD. I did a file search and it came up with some files of INCD but would I just select all the files and delete them or is there a safer and easier way to uninstall and remove INCD?

it should be located in add and remove programs . just click remove . if this method isnt going to work you can go to nero's website and look for a removal tool . here is a link to clean your system of incd . i hope this helps .

Well this is interesting.
I bought a spinal of Maxell DVD-R's and lo and behold, ran Nero Burning Rom again and this time NO ERROR.
Going to put the dvd in my player and see if it actually works.....brb...
(after a few moments)
Well good news and bad news......
It works and plays in dvd, BUT its really choppy. Freezes then plays, and these blocks appear and scramble the picture then it returns to normal, etc etc
Is the dvd dirty or is there a setting I need to set to avoid chopping and freezes in the picture??

I was reading a bit on skips and choppy quality in the picture, and someone mentioned that reducing the burn speed helps, even though it takes longer to burn, your still saving money. lol

Hey, when using DVD-Shrink, Ive been usually draggin over just MAIN MOVIE from the right, but if I drag over EXTRAS and MENUS, does this mean it will burn the selections screen just as if you are watching an actual original DVD movie?
I noticed if I drag and compress only MAIN MOVIE, it will burn JUST the movie, but leaves out the intro selection screen you usually get when playing the original.

most take out all of the extras as it will need less compression that way and improve the picture quality of the movie . slowing down the burn speed also helps with the problems you have .
i have never used dvdshrink so i cant comment further on how to use it . your best bet would be to use the guides on this site . sorry i cant be more help .
