9GB DVD-R's and DVDXCOPY Questions

I'd like to start off by saying that I do not own a dvd burner yet. This passed thanksgiving weekend however I was at a friends house who recently purchased an Pioneer 104, and DVDXCopy. I was really amazed by how easy the whole process was however I got thinking. Here are a couple of questions I have:
1.) DVDXCopy will automatically split a movie that goes over 4.7gb in to two DVD-R's but what about 9.4gb DVD-R's like this one: http://www.shop4tech.com/user.htm?go=view_item&id=293&cata=&s_cata= Can those be used? And for that matter is there any program that I could use to back up a dvd over 4.7gbs onto one of those 9.4gb DVD-Rs and still be able to watch it on my Home dvd player that normally plays 4.7gb Dvdrs? Sorry, long sentence lol.
2.) In DVDXCopy, if I were to make a copy of a copy would that then make that Warning at the beginning about 'this is a backup bla bla' appear twice... and so on for that matter?

I think the 9.4's your referring to are double sided. I looked at them myself today. I just don't see the value of the extra cost involved when you need to get up, flip, sit back down as opposed to get up,change, sit back down. The better answer is to buy a multople disak machine. I also am using the new version of Xcopy and don't think the warning is any longer.

Dual-layer blank DVDs don't exist. Simple fact. Even the logic is BIG TIME flawed to think 9.4GB to be DVD-9.
9.4GB discs are actually DVD-10 discs http://www.afterdawn.com/glossary/terms/dvd-10.cfm and the DVD-9s that are the problem can only hold 8.5GB DVD-9.cfm" class=korostus target="_blank">http://www.afterdawn.com/glossary/terms/DVD-9.cfm
So, 9.4GB DVD-R is basically the same as two normal DVD-Rs, you still have to split the movie over two discs -- only difference is that in this case, the two "discs" are just one disc's two sides.

The problem with the 2-sided discs is there is no way to label them! I have 20 of them.The only way to tell side A from B is there is a red ring on one side.They are useless in my opinion!

you can use a new sharpie marker to write on the small space near the inner hold, but it is rather limited I admit. Still, it is what I use to label my dvd's.

I use 2 methods. For over 4500meg (dvd 9) disks use simple dvd ripping method. for dvd less than 4500 meg i use a direct rip method. If you email me i can send you the instructions. They are easy to read with pics of the exact settings and will allow you to have a great copy of your purchased dvd movie. The instructions are too big to post here is why I say email me for them. *no-mail-addresses-allowed*

bobby5411: Eh.. Did anyone ask any instructions for DVD to DVD-R copying? Discussion was about DVDXCopy's functionality and about 9.4GB discs.
In our DVD-R discussion forums, there are tons and tons of instructions on how to make DVD-9 copies to one or two DVD-R disc/s already.
And no email addresses to our forums, please read the rules.
