I will say this again for you guys......

every time you go anywhere in this game it does a load OFF the 2nd layer. If you go into your garage you need to load the 2nd layer dvd, then load the 1st dvd back in. Its the same for races.

So even IF you did make the game not look at the second layer at boot up, you would still need to find a way to make the game run in a DVD5 mode, or simply burn it in PTP format.

Because by doing a 2 disc swap you would need to swap the discs A LOT!

NOw I hope somebody actually reads this and drops the issue of skipping the movie to make this work. There is NO WAY that movie is 2 gb in size!!!! so it needs that second layer for other things as well.

Paradox is a "ripping" group. They are pretty good too. I also believe that they will be releasing something on PS2NFO.com If something comes up at PS2NFO, since I check about 10 times a day, I'll let everyone on here know.

I think it will be ready as soon as they are done :)

And asking about it prolly wont make it come any faster.

Yeah, what's the deal with them closing down registration? And banning free email addresses in the first place?

I really don't get that. They're closing away people from valuable information and resources.

No I never emailed them...... I tried going on ps2ownz.com too but that redirects to ps2nfo.com and says IP is banned!?!?!? :(

There is another release of GT4 it seems, but nobody had finished d/l it yet to verify the goods.... Don't think it has been cracked though so it prolly be no good like the rest....

I just made a working copy from the NTSC USA version I rented at blockbuster. All I did was rip the entire game to my hard drive, then I had to figure out which files made up the arcade game and which made up the sim game. I just used DVD Shrink and left off the files that made up the arcade game, and it came in around 4.2 gigs. Used a Lite-on burner and and philips dvd-r, burnt at 1x. Works perfectly so far!

Just rebooted and selected arcade from the menu, and my ps2 froze. If you use the method I described above, dont try to select arcade, or you will have to reboot.

PS2GURU, can you tell the exact steps u did to back up ONLY the simulation and not the arcade game. Like what files you used and which ones you left out. Did you do all this through dvd decripter and make an iso?

ps2 guru, Im sure I am not the only one that would LOVE to see Progressive screenshots of how you did this with DVD Shrink.

See the problem is that when you click "open disc" it comes up with an error. And you cant open it through file system either. You CAN however open it in "re-author" mode. but the big problem is that you only can see 3 folders in that mode. And the combined size of those 3 folders are about 30 mb.

Are you trying to say that by shrinking the DVD by 30 mb allows you to burn it as a DVD5?

Just to clarify my question...... The game starts at just over 6 gb. Minus the 30 mb you save from having those folders missing...... hmmmmmm...... thats 5.97 gb! Now you are telling me that you can OVERBURN a 4.7GB DVD with an extra 1.27 GB of data??????

As I said, I would love to see your screenshots of your single layer game.

Also I would love to see how you opened the .vol file to extract the arcade mode. AND even better yet show us an example of the hex editing you had to do to remove the calls to the second layer. And how you pointed them at the new locations. (Assuming you knew where these locations were)

You know, If you are going to lie about something you should read the first 30 pages on this post first. Because your story has so many holes in it that it doesnt even warrant my lengthy reply.

that has got to be a crock because DVD Shrink will not even open that file or the disc for that matter.
