I think one halo forum is all it takes. In reality u need only one, it doesnt make sence to have 14 forums on the same topic. One forum all the hlo 2 ppl can talk insted of jumping back and forth.

1. foundation? i thought we had to wait till the next halo to get farther
2. i didnt use a spectre the whole game and no foundation
3. is it a multiplayer map?
4. how do I really get it?

foundation is a multiplayer map that you can unlock
it became unlocked for me when i beat Halo 2 on normal dificulty
try to see if that works
u cant drive the spectre but u can operate the turret; but only on the level Outskirts

Umm what are u talking about u can drive the Spectre in multiplayer and in Campaign. U cant drive the Shadow.

Getting into this convo pretty late, so I wont comment on anything b4, too much to do so :P
My concern with XBox2 is that Microsoft must be being pretty pressured to take out the HDD to prevent "illegal" modding. It seems to me that modding is so popular that MS is probably losing a marginal amount of $$ due to a slowing of game purchases due to XB copy mods.
My personnal hope is that M$ includes a HDD in the XB2, despite the problems of modding, because the HDD is one of the XB lne's defining features. Without it, there is no music storage and a very small amount of personalization for each individual XB, taking away its unique property of being able to conform to the user, much as a PC can. This personalization is also something that tePS2 and gamecube w/o mods lack, and is probably a leading factor in the popularity of the XB over the PS2 and the GC.
As far as Halo 3 goes, i believe it will be based mostly on Earth, or at least that's my hope. Part of my dissapointment about Halo2 was that it was advertised as a fight to save earth from the covenant, instead it ended up being a galactic romp to stop the activation of a second halo, whose ending was left open to a possible ground war on earth.

LAST THOUGHTS: Reply to Darkreapr:
Mytake on the history of the Halo story is that in the begginning there were the forerunners, they created the flood and were engulfed by them, so they created the halos and activated them, killing all life in the galaxy. HOWEVER: what about the forerunners themselves. I think they were humans, and that Earth was their homeworld. I base this on the fact that both Halo custodians recognized humans as "reclaimers" and I believe they never called the covenant reclaimers. This suggests to me that the custodians "IE Guilty Spark 343?" recognized them as forerunners coming back to "reclaim" the halos and stop the flood once more.
I think modern humanity in the halo universe is perhaps an evolutionary descendant of the forerunners. This would explain why the Covenant hierarch(spelled right?) at the end of H2 returns to earth when he was supposedly going to go to the control center of the halo rings to activate them all. It also explains why the Prophet of Regret went to Earth not expecting to find the humans there, he was looking to gain control of the halo control center as well, and didn't know that the planet was already settled by humans. The same may be said about Reach, the planet from the beginning of Halo that the covenant ambushed. CONTinUED IN THE BOOK SECTION(below)
FOR THOSE WHO'VE READ THE HALO BOOKS:
The master chief describes activating the underground light bridge on the first halo, as seemingly instinctual and even cortana doesn't know how he knew how to activate it. What if when the spartan's were augmented, it was done by using Forerunner technology, and so the Spartan II's are part forerunner?
Maybe the crystal the covenant was after on Reach was a part of the Halo central control center or something related. I am noticing an odd correlation between the planets formerly settled by the Forerunners and the ones settled by humanity. Further proof of humanity's roots in um... Forerunner...dom? Maybe Earth, Reach, and the other planets are habitable for humans because they were habitable for the Forerunners who were humans?
If any of this has already been said, I'm not ripping of your ideas, i just didn't bother to read them =P
Can't wait for Halo3. Bungie no more continuation endings, god help you if you make a continuation endings again. For every continuation ending I find, I shall kill you! lol

Secondly: This is a Halo2/3 chat thread so, why all the discussion about the new XBOX?
Personally I don't really see the point of a new console considering the fact that the first console is still highly popular and there are still alot of games coming to the old XBOX console, same goes for the PS3. Why bring out another console when there's still quite alot of profit to be made out of the cuerrent console/s?

M$ is doing it's trademark thing. The release of the XB2 is coming so early because M$ wants to try and dominate the industry (as impossible as we all know that sounds) The enormous popularity of the XB has given M$ the ability to rush the market before the GC2? and PS3 are released. Their hope is probably to steal some huge sales from PS3 and nintendo and maybe even to push them out of the US market by making better games available earlier and in a more graphically advanced state than Sony or Nintendo's new consoles can handle. This is just a guess from me, the only person who knows for sure is probably M$'s CEO :P
SEGA did a similar thing with the Genesis and Sega Saturn. The problem was that Nintendo was more popular and SEGA being a new oppponent in the market just couldn't make the sales that nintendo could, so despite releasing the Saturn, and the Dreamcast before each succesive next generation of consoles (n64, PSX) & (Xbox, PS2, GC), SEGA took it in the pants and died, despite the Dreamcast's graphics capability which rivaled PS2's. The only diff between SEGA and M$, is that M$'s XBOX has been insanely popular in the US, and M$ has the Corporate revenue to back up the XB division no matter what happens, whereas SEGA had to vie for it's position in the market with the existance of the company directly dependant on whether or not they could sell their new system.
I love the idea of XB dominating the market in the US. I am fed up with Nintendo releasing better and more diverse games in its home country of Japan while we in the US only get offered what Nintendo thinks US consumers will buy (Typical marketting I know, but damn I wanted that Evangelion game for my n64!) Sony does the same thing by releasing its systems in Japan long before we get to see them, and in addition offering special games and unique collector's consoles that never see the United States Market. I think it's nice to finally have a company who is US based so we do not get the shaft.

okay first of all im just thinking this, when 343 Gutility Spark said "All the Forerunners died as planned"
Well then we can already picture in our mind how big a explosion Halo would be activated. And as we know it would destroy all. So if all was destroyed, then how could there be a halo how could there be any stars left,or Earth? Consider that.

The rings don't explode! No one really knows how they work exactly (except 343 Guilty Spark and other monitors), but they destroy sentient life, and nothing else.

My theory on how the rings work is a huge force wave or kinda sonic boom sweeps into the galaxy and fries everyone up, or maybe they work like the arc of the covenant on indiana jones. hope bungie releases a vid of the ring being fired, that would be cool :)

I know this is off topic, but it seems that Bungie doesn?t have time to do anything other than do Hump day Challenges and simply tell people that they are busy working on cheat and bug fixes. Something just doesn?t add up, the questions and answer section they do every Friday was considerably shorter this week. They said it was to do with the fact that they are working hard to fix bugs etc. Yet they still have to time to do these Hump day Challenges, which in my opinion are pointless.

Thats right T-spartan is back with his famous predictions.
My theory is that the halos came from us in the future we are the ones known as the forrunners. I know Ive been saying that for months now and on other halo threads but this time I have proof. This proof comes from the halo book called "Halo:the flood". This book gives you alot more info than the video game. The proof is in the part of the book where master chief meets 343 Guilty spark in the swamp as you recall from the game. As master chief goes on the journey with spark to find the index 343 Guilty spark keeps reffering to him as another person and calling him reclaimer. Spark reffers to all humans as reclaimers. Spark keeps talking to the master chief about things his never even done before but the master chief just plays along and says "yes, well, refresh my memory...how long has it been since you were left in charge?" and then spark replies by saying "exactly 101,217 local years". Then the monitor starts talking about a combat skin that the chief could use that is 6 time more powerful than his own suit. I would also like to add in that in the two betrayals as the chief is about to activate the ring and cortana shows up the chief asks Spark if its true that the ring kills all sentient life to starve the flood and Spark responds later on by saying "but you already knew that I mean how couldnt you, you were with me each step of the way as we managed the process. And further on in the game and book Spark says to the chief "why would you hesitate to do what youve already done we must activate the ring".

The rings dont explode, they fire some sort of wave into space and it searches out all sentient life. If the rings did explode how would the planets next to the rings still be in the game?
My theroy is that somehow Humans are related to Forerunrs. If Halo will start to talk into time travel and stuff, well here we go. Somewhere a while back I heard somone say that some how MC was transported back in time roughly the 101,217 years to one of the Halos. The Foreruners called him some how, maybe with their tecnology. When MC activated the rings all SENTIENT life died. Some how Cortana was able to stay in his mind and keep him from dieing. Cortana dies, and MC utterly turns into Gravemind.
Now I dont want to see any crap on how can that happen, cause in reality I dont give a crap. I dont deal with timetravel its to confusing. That woul help to explain in a way what Spark was saying "why wont u do what u have already done before?"
In all Bungie has left us in wonder.

but when he says "why wont u do what u have already done before?" isnt he just referring to when the foreunners activated it and just instead of saying forerunners he said "you" since we all believe the humans are a decendent of forerunners anyway.

halo 3 is suspected to come out the same day as PS3, which should come out next spring (2006). The XBox 2 is coming out around november-december this year.

darkreaper has given me sum seiries thought here, maybe gravemind his mc but all messed up and gravemind kinda tells mc not to make the same mistake so at the end non of that will have ever happend. i mean the whole halo thing. but i think mc will remember it and at the very end of the game they will show when the piller of autom was still running and the sargent will say "chief wake up, you kno i aint payen u by the hour." whats wrong big guy" then mc goes nuttin just a bad dream. u will get what im kinda saying if u play prince of persia sands of time

Hmmmm....good thoughts, but I would be pissed if it happend like that. Waitin for like years just to go back to the Pilliar Of Autumn.
I have a new theory, The Forerunners jumped to Earth tousands of years ago. They were landed on Earth around Egypt. The ship the traveld in is the Forerunner ship we see at the end of Halo 2. They helped the egyptian out and in return the Egyptians built the Pyrmids in the somewhat shape of the triangle forerunner ship. Now the real reason why the Forerunners came to Earth was to build somethibg on Earth that can activate all of the Halos, but was at a safe enough distance so that if the Flood some how ever got off the rings they wouldnt be able to get to the control room on Earth. The Foreruners built the Control room near New Mombassa, which is why Regret jumped to Earth. Now I think the Forerunners built the ship as a huge index, which is why Truth took it to Earth. So the Flood start to break out of the first Halo we were on. The forerunners activate that ring alone knowing the wave would not hit Earth. Now, the Forerunners made the index to only work with wither the Humans or foreruners, which is why the Arbiter couldnt grab the index at the end of H2. I think Truth was mad when he figured only humans could touch their religous artifacts and waged the Covenant/Human war. I think he fled to Earth to activate the rings and kill very thing in the Universe except him and a few others. But that leaves one question, how does he survive?
Keep in mind these are merly opinions. I'll b thinkin of some more theorys.

I don?t know if this is correct but I think that the Arc is in fact the forerunner ship. It appears to be the same shape and size to be a control room. If you look at the control room at the end of Halo 2 you should notice that they are pretty similar. However this control room is mobile, which means that it can be piloted to anywhere in the universe that is out of range of the halo?s, in order to activate them all. Since that the forerunner ship is probably a lot more advanced than the Covenant?s technology, it is possible to say that the ship has an inbuilt autopilot feature, which is activated automatically when the halos are deactivated unexpectedly. This is why I think that the last level that you see the MC, you see him going into the forerunner ship just in the nick of time. I think that the last levels with the Arbiter are linked, as the events that the MC and the Arbiter carry out are meant to be simultaneous. I think that the forerunner ship actually flies off into space just after the deactivation of the halos. I think the reason that the forerunner ship went to earth is because the forerunners knew that the halos can only be activated by them or humans, and that earth is a sufficient distance away to be unharmed if they are activated. Also at the end of Halo 2, when the Arbiter asks, "And where Oracle is that", it then switches to the forerunner ship. I think that we are meant to think oh its earth, but it is in fact the ship. Also ?Noah?s ark? was a ship of course. It?s a hard to follow concept but I think it fits with the story.
