Speaking of Halo 2, Other than XBLive, where can I find the new Multiplayer maps at? I got the four off Bit-torrents, but didnt work for me.

try bestbuy or any gaming store they should have it. and the rock is something the covie found on a human controlled planet called Sigma Octas and they where taking it to the mothership but MC got in the way.

Are these maps even worth buying? I mean, I have heard good and bad things about the maps. Is it best just waiting until June when they'll be free?

I know xbox live has two availble for download for free, but I cant get into xbox live. I tried the bit torrent version, but they didnt work for me. what I really want to know is where to ftp them to my box

lol ok, the crystalline Forerunner artifact was discovered in an underground facility on Reach by Dr. Halsey and the surviving Spartans. When reach was taken over by the covenant they stole the artifact, and supposedly are now able to use forerunner like technology.
Naturally because it is Forerunner it has something to do with Halo, but what?

Im not entirely sure where in the books its mentioned. But its not the spartans that find it, its Dr. Halsey. She found it in Menachite Mountain, which is an extinct volcano. Also the king under the mountain files where also stored there.

The Story of the Artifact
Yeah, the crystal artifact is found on Reach in the third book entitled "Halo: first strike". Its is found when the Master chief returns to Reach to see if there are any survivors after Halos destruction. When he goes to Reach he notices that a part of Reach wasnt destroyed by the covenant.The covenant decided not to destroy a part of Reach because they were looking for an artifact. When the Master chief arrives to Reach he manages to find a couple of spartan survivors and they later regroup with Dr.Halsey who manages to find the artifact before the covenant. As the story progresses the artifact is destroyed by one of the odst officers that were rescued off the halo debris.

Some chards and pieces of the artifact somehow manage to float out in to space as the Master chief and the other spartan survivors Fred, Will, and Linda who was revived thanks to Dr.Halsey, go to Earth to give them the warning that the covenant had finaly discovered Earths location and were on their way. Then the brute named Tartarus recovers a piece of the artifact and gives it to the prophet of Truth. And now this is were Halo 2 begins to pick up.
Someones Missing!!
toward the end of the book Dr.Halsey knocks out the spartan named Kelly with some gas or something and then Mysteriously leaves with Kelly on some sort of secret mission that no one else must know about.

wasn't there an artifact in the first book though. i could have sworn i read about it but im not sure. i don't remember. i thought they talked about it a little bit.
