Rather than ripping with DVD Decrypter try just ripping and writing with shrink I did that and had no problems at all. I dont have AnyDVD.

OK I will say this one more time.. :-)

Rip the movie in file mode with Decrypter.

Open Shrink and click on re-author

Browse to where you ripped FNL and drag the movie to the left window....

Easy hu :-)

bbmayo,
I do the rip with decrypt. In iso mode read. I put both files into a folder. One of the problems i have is when i try to open that file with DVD Shrink it gives me the cant find video_ts file.
I tried to just open the mds file and shrink that but the prog locks up or it gives me a error. the same happens when i do the iso file.

Why is it that the easiest directions always seem to be the hardest to follow. Switching to file mode fixed it all. Props to all who supported me through the rough times also i thank god and most of all i love you mom!!

...lest we forget the apple pie. ;)

Hopefully, by now, everyone realizes the decryption software in DVD Shrink is obsolete. The last update was in July of '04 and the ARccOS, Puppetlock encryptions have been added to DVDs since then. So, with some of the newer movies, the ripper just won't work properly. That means DVD Shrink won't work properly by itself with some of the newer movies. The Grudge, The Forgotten, Resident Evil 2, and Little Black Box are just some that come to mind quickly.

AnyDVD is a good app to update the decryption capabilities of a system. (DVD43 from www.DVD43.com is a freeware solution, but not as good as the AnyDVD.) DVD Shrink will function properly with most of the newer movies with the AnyDVD running in the background. In fact all the ones I've tried AnyDVD and Shrink with have worked right. With AnyDVD, Shrink (using no compression) also makes a good ripper. The nice thing about ripping with Shrink is that Shrink corrects some of the minor structural flaws caused by the bad sector, structural encryption systems.

Both DVD Decrypter and AnyDVD are kept updated often to keep up with encryption systems being added by the entertainment industry. Currently, both apps do an excellent job of handling the encryption. With DVD Decrypter, AnyDVD, and DVD Shrink (as a utility), and DVDCopy3 to transcode, I'm able to backup full discs without the problems that appear to be plaguing a lot of people.

I rip movies in file mode, which is easier to work with when correcting problems and/or editing. (Just to keep BBmayo happy. LOL) Some software, unlike Shrink, won't handle ISO/disc images.

Just a step before burnimg.
Before burn the dvd using of IFOEdit can save your time and money.
Open the VTD_file and select theese three options: (1) Region free (2) Remove popus and (3) Get VTS sectors which is the most inportant of all. This will allow you to burn a 100% compliant DVD dor stand alone players. The deriving files may pointing to weong addresses causing infinite loops, freezings or screen jumps.
Personaly I use: (a) DVDdecrypter (IFO non ISO mode) to save all dvd files in my Hard Disk drive. (b) IFO edit to obtain movie only VOB files (since I own the original disk) and I dont want big compression ratios to the derived compilation. (c) Perorm the action as descrived above in paragraph (3). (d) Burn the files with Nero Express. This make consumes some extra time, but the result is guaranteed!
