Pentium 4, 1G Ram, 160G HD space, Windows Pro and updates including Service Pack 2. The newer disks are burning fine. It seems to be the older disks that I'm having trouble with; like Fight Club, Full Metal Jacket, and Nat ural Born Killers. I'm using Memorex DVD-Rs and Nero with shrink, decryptor, and I've tried VOB blanker.
It ripped the Disks which none of the others would do, but it was still encrypted and it would pixalate.

Txstang, you don't have an Optorite Burner do you?
If you do toss it like I did and grab a Lite-On Burner or a Sony or anything else...

I have a Pioneer 108, its not the media because I have no problem burning it. The problem is ripping the movie not burning it.

Like I said I found the older movies didnt have the copy protection like the newer movies and I was able to copy some by just using Nero.I wish I had one of those movies to try it.If you could find someone with the RF version of DVD Shrink that along with DVD43 and pattin couffin would burn them great. The rf version came out right as they told xcopy to stop selling thier program with the ripper built in.You could try Icopydvd and useit with DVD43 and pattin couffin(I'm pretty sure they have a free trial download)You could also download dvdidlepro free trial version. Its not your system as you are pretty much running what I am

although I am not getting specific errors with shrink 3.2 and Nero, I have been running into continous lockups on playback in both of my drives as well as my stand alone units. ( I-robot, collateral, kill bill, just to name a few) never ran into this before. all lock ups are occuring on chapter 17...any ideas....thanks

Hey blimpe and the rest of yall. I have some information, not a solution just information. I have processed 175 movies in the last three months, 5 at a time and everything on the shelf. Blimpe, We have some of the same movies on our list. Ashamed to say, Little Black Book, Ned Kelley, Resident Evil, Cellular and the forgoton, but not Friday Night Lights DVDXCopy 4.0.3.8 riped it, burned with Nero recode. All were first time rented, pull the cover, all coughed up sector/block errors on the disk. It appears to be a new copyright scheme probably on disk creation. Its pissing me off. Multiple disks of these movies were rented and tested on my burning arsinal of laptops and workstations resulting in the same sector/block address read failure. Nothing gets past it so far. DVD Decrypter told me that the bad block was also recorded in a Data space and can't be reproduced in your recreation of .VOB files. Blows. I tried 1 click dvd copy and it told me that additional cp could not be recreated right off the bat on its initial disk scan. I don't believe there is a setting in DVD Decrypter which will allow it to ignore bad sector reads. So far it looks like Sony and new line home entertainment and paramount columbia. Once in a whNo answers here.

CRC errors are common with damaged information not necessarly damaged media, either CD or HD. Compressed files which look intact may infact be broken shells holding damaged or inconsistant information will give a CRC error just as consistantly as a scratched CD.
Food for thought.

Friday night lights like a few other brand new disks seemed to have a translucent film on the disk which coughed up a crc sector/block error. Its like an oilly film that looks swirly if looked at hard enough. Cleaned it with DVD cleaner and Xcopy riped it. No answers just info.

yea I had problems with forgotten.Had to rip it to my hd in file mode with decrypter then use shrink and it worked fine. You need newest version of decrypter. I saw one post that said decrtpter had to be set to all defalts. I didn't change anything on mine so that may be true.

I get that data error only when I have a fingerprint on my disk. I associate that error number with dirty/scratched disks wipe them clean and try again. I have also noticed that if I use another computer with a different burner I can work around scratches as one is more sensitive then the other with officemax giving away burners for $49 or less why not just get a couple and save the trouble?

Good idea about the 2nd burner at officemax. I use two computers when I have trouble with one the otherone seems to solve it and vice versa. Drives are touchy sometimes.
