Trying the steps I listed will probably kick your drive back into DMA.

Expand the tree for DVD/CD ROM Drives >

Find the drive in question, right click it and go to Properties >

Under the Driver tab, select Uninstall then OK.

Now reboot and Windows should detect and reinstall the drive.

If this doesn't help try the same steps as above except expand the tree for IDE ATA/ATA Controllers and uninstall either the Primary or Secondary controller depending on which one the drive in question is attatched to. Nero Info Tool can tell you which chain the drive is on under the Configuration tab.

I Did Both First Uninstalled the driver for the dvd rw drive rebooted let windows intall the drive , rebooted again..burned a successful dvd then i tryed burning a 2nd one and back to the same error messenge, so i went to plan b and ran Nero info tool to see on the ATA/ATA i Needed To uninstall (And it Was Showing DMA off)..so the one i needed to unistall was the secondary> rebooted> let widows intall driver>rebooted again >tryed burning bur got the same error messenge again. Now What Can I Do?

see when i run Nero tool it shows DMA "ON"

Yes it looks like you now have DMA on.

But your last log also said you were still burning at 8X, even though you say you are not. I believe the log.

You say you are doing all those things but we want to see all those things.

sure no problem. this is how you change the speed from 8x to 4x and lower right? start>my computer> d: drive>right click properties>Recording Tab> drop down box select 4x....correct? because thats how i did it not sure if that is the correct way of doing so. but yes i'll put the other log when i came home from school like 1:00pm Pacific time.

Okay Every Body I finaly Got It Working using 2x....but i have on last question why does it give me those burning errors when i use a higher speed? it didnt use to do that the first 2 time i backed up dvd's............and what can i do so i can burn dvd's at a higher speed?

If you're asking about speeds of 8X and above it isn't necessarily a good idea. Is it really worth it to end up with errors on every disc just to save a couple minutes burn time? If and when you end up with errors you not only double the time invested in that movie by having to do it all over again but you also wasted money on a disc you must throw away. A consistent recipe for outstanding burns is write to a temp file on the hard drive, set the target file size to 4,300 MB and burn at 4X. This recipe has netted me hundreds of error free burns.

That being said if you want to burn faster be sure to use the highest quality media such as Verbatim Metal AZO or Taiyo Yuden that's rated for the speed you want and leave your PC alone during the entire process - no multitasking.
