I've been trying to burn MVP baseball 2005, but having no success. I tried rebuilding the image and still does not work. It just loads a black screen and stays black. I have a v9 fliptop w/ sm 3.3 If anyone who had a successful copy may help me i'll appreciate it

This game was the first time i had to reburn it.

The first time it just went to a black screen, but i burned it exactly the same again, and it worked perfectly.
Don't know if that'll work for you, but that's all i had to do.

I am also having troubles with MVP 2005. I have burned using a sony dw-d22a burner and go5 ritek dvd-r and also have tried tdk dvd+r. I have read at 2x and then written @ 1, 2, and 4x. The problem is that it will play the disk w/ swap 3.3 but it takes forever to load and gameplay takes forever. I am using decrypter and have also tried burning with alcohol as well. Any help would be great. The same thing has happened with nascar 2005.

Even with the original Mercenaries disc, you still needed to rebuild it to make it load. This was what he was talking about.

I finally figured out what my problem was. I needed to clean my laser. All the originals worked fine but the backups were slow. I just simply used some alcohol with a Q-Tip and it works great

I still cannot back this game up. I have rebuilt the image which made it around 2GB,used Alcohol 120, and DVD Decyrptor with Nero burn. I still cannot figure it out. The game plays well but it has slow loading times and hangs for long periods when showing the batters stats and pic.

I also tried cleaning my laser and it had no effect.

Micro Advantage 8x DVD burner
Memorex 8x disc. (I know these work I used them on Madden and Tiger Woods and they work perfect.)
I also tried + and -Rs.

Any help or other ideas would be great help.

Hey mugz, I had the exact same problem VERY Slow loading times, long pauses when I tried to pick different pitchers to put in the game. I was using either fugifilm dvd-r or memorex dvd-r for all of my other games (120 and counting) and I've never had a problem until this. I read a post somewhere that said for games that constantly load from the disc, to use dvd+r. So I bought a 5 pack of sony dvd+r and it works perfectly, with absolutely NO skips or pauses. Also, I DID NOT rebuild the game eithr. The post also said that dvd+r only works on version 4 ps2's and up. I personally don't know if that is true, cuz i only have a version 4, and nothing else. I
sure hopes this helps, cuz I had to search high and low for the solution.

I'm using a Lite-on 8x DVD burner
DVD Decrypter
Alcohol 120% (i also use nero and decrypter to burn sometimes)

I got MVP 2005 I burnt it with a:

Samsung 8x DVD burner
Alcohol 120% 2.0x Speed
Memorex DVD-R Disc (Memorex works fine for all my games and DVD's so far.)
Play it with Swap Magic version 2.0 dvd
A v2 very old PS2

The game works just as well as the Original!!!

The only thing that I didn't like is that EA Sports made the batting interface not as fun as last years. They shouldn't have released it this early. Considering that it will be the last MLB based MVP baseball game. They should have made the gameplay much better.

I am giving up on this one. I have tried all methods besides changing media. I am not gonna do that because I know Memorex works for all my other games and EA games.

I still cant get it to work either, using memorex DVD+Rs which have worked for ALL my other backups, including some EA Sports games. Burning with Decrypter, Nero, rebuilding the image...still a slow loading/ choppy/ freezing game.

What about DNAS patching? I cant find where or how to do this??

Try memorex DVD-R, MVP Baseball 2005 is worth it.

something else is obviously wrong then. I was having problems with the game loading slow and cleaned the laser and it works perfect now. I simply used decrypter and had to change my IDE bus setting to PIO only in order to slow down my sony burner to a true 2x speed. Other wise I would say burn at 2x and it would at a minimum go to 4x. Maybe you are in the same boat and your burner isn't actually burning at the advertised speed.
