wtf! ive made 4 coasters already and now i find out that it wont work even if i do burn it right?

someone needs to find out how to burn the whole game.

i have no idea what im doing wrong, cause everything is exact step by step, and it seems like it should work. but it doesnt.

we need a specific set of instructions from someone that has burnt it completely.
Ummm...the instructions that were written there were right...

Right as much as im enjoying making coasters, id really like this game to work, ive done severally methods, i just want to know, shall i use the method were i combine GOD.000 + GOD.001 or shall i use the method combining GOD.000 + GOD.001 and after that, combine the other GOD.002 + GOD.003 seperately then combine both iso's together, which one has been successful, also use apache 2 to find the second layer with pak2 in, any help would be fantastic

Thanks in advanced, Troy

Guess what,I just got the game today and noticed it had the a familiar IOPRP.img file just like GT4.The first layer contains alot of the data, and then when you look at the second layer PART2.pak is the only file on there. It is just like GT4 protection, the PART2.pak has alot of information on it also it isn't a dummy file.Think about it why would they make a 4 something Gig file to be a dummy file,it doesn't make sense. This new protection is starting to get the best of me.I think you could downsize the PART2.pak file and the PART1.pak file and have it as one ISO,but still this new protection involves those dvd checks that check for the second layer.I know what you all mean, you can probably play it to a certain point and then it will freeze on you.Reason why is the IOPRP.img is checking the second layer for the PART2.pak.

i finally got it to work, but you have to use cdloader in conjunction with swap magic....i haven't gotten to the titan part yet...hopefully it won't freeze...it shouldn't because of the double check requirements are met with the cdloader....

well.. i followed it step by step also (taking into account they are made for different games)
i had STAR.000 through .003 and a STAR.LST and i combined all of those with the dos command, then i burned the image onto yuden TYG01 discs using Recordnow.

the game initially froze up at the sony screen, and i was using swap disc.. and i had to use the swap disc, then use dvdloader v7, then insert the game.. then it sat there a second, and loaded...

im sure ill run into that snag you guys are talking about tho.. but maybe this can be made with 2 discs? or even a DL disc maybe... heck, ive been waiting for an excuse to get one anyways.... and this game seems like a winner.

i burned the game as well, i did nothing different so im posative its only half of it, even though im not there yet.

but i dont even see a part 2. where can you see that file? the decrypter rip says around 8 gigs, but when i open up the file list, it only looks like 4. where is the rest of it.

Rawk, in answer to your question. Yes Layer1 has ONLY the file, "Part2.pak", nothing else.
Part2.pak is itself around 4 gigs. That's one hell of a dummy file. I haven't tried replacing it with a notepad just because like L-burna said, layer0 might tried to find Part2.pak in Layer1. Even if we fake a file called Part2.pak, we wouldn't be able to put it in a 2nd layer because we're using a single layered DVD-R. I did tried what L-Burna suggested on Champions of Norrath by creating a disc 2 that overlaps disc 1 by keeping everything the same except using Part2.pak in place of Part1.pak. The result was an unreadable disc. I hate to say it but Sony might win this one. Seening how no one could crak GT 4

Jety. you only see 4 gigs of file because you're looking at Layer 0. This game has 2 layers. The rest of the 4 gig is on Layer 1. YOu can see it if you use Apache 2.0 and go to tools and extract layer 1. and then go back into that layer 1 image and you'll see that it is only one file called "Part2.pak"

Hey L-Burna, do you have a hex editor to go inside Part2.pak and see what's in there?

question is, if we burn that pak2 to disk by creating the iso, can you switch the disk when the first one pauses, so it will load, im just thinking logically, but i think it may be worth a try, theory untested, but may work

i dont mean replace it with pak1, i mean burn a seperate disk with only pak2, i do believe it worked in file form for champions of norrath, maybe it would be succesful here, the other guy replaced pak1, with pak2, i mean just burn pak2, to a second disk, so when the other pauses when it tries to read pak2, you insert second disk, an theres pak2 on it, i think it would be a good theory to try, it hasnt been tried yet, so who knows, im just trying to help

I am thinking a solution could come where you can burn the first layer the way it is right. Then just replace the second layer with PART2.pak file, problem is the dvd checks.I am not really sure where to locate them, the code in the IOPRP.img is very long and would probably take a couple weeks to look through it all.I did check out a program though mentioned from someone called pssplex, and to my suprise it has a PS2DVDCHECK program with it.I opened up the IOPRP.img with pssplex dvdcheck and found a matching dvd check.I might have the location for the dvd checks for both games GT4 and God of War,but am not really sure what to change the values to at the moment.I might try to get in touch with Sonix to see if this might be usefull, not sure at the moment.

Hmmmm... I did as the instructions say, but I ended up with 1.99 gb instead of 3.96 gb even though my total file size is 15 files. Can anyone help point out what I did wrong?

but, the guy thats working on the dvd checks is the closer than anyone else ive read, i think thats the problem, that seems to be what everyone has been leaning towards.

gt4 is the same i think. but i have no idea how to find or create the checks, that up to people smarter than me
