Thanks scuba, creaky, muffin man, and anyone else i missed, for the info it explained alot. Thanks guys I did some looking around and figured out that recode 2 is part of my Nero package. I think for know I will just stick with DVD Shrink and Nero, until I run into problems then give dvd decryptor a shot. Paying for software will probably be a last option for me.

Look at it this way with the free stuff what do you have to lose.I would suggest some DVD-RW's until you get your process down.

Once you master these programs you can always move on to bigger and better.

I got burned with Xcopy Platinum. The good thing that came out of that was finding this site!

I started with Shrink then Recode2 and now use DVD Rebuilder with CinemaCraft Encoder.

Happy Burning and Good Luck!

Wild77,

"I got burned with Xcopy Platinum. The good thing that came out of that was finding this site!"

I feel better now, I wasn't the only one who fell into the Xcopy black hole. I paid $100 for Xcopy Platnum about 6 months before the company went belly up in the US. The guy who owned the company was spending way too much money and time in Washington trying to change a rigged system. He had Right on his side but they had a s__t load of money and influence on their side.

Your also correct that the best thing that came out of that was finding this site

I believe they found out he voted for Bush! <JK>

It's happened to myself twice before. It could just be a bad email addresse that aD checked for 5 times and no response so automatic "inactive." Once corrected, back to the status he was before.

When you are encoding the DVD in Shrink and have AnyDVD running in the background, the encryption status will state "Not Encrypted" just like it would if you had run the DVD through DVD Decrypter first.

As crozzman pointed out, we can tell the difference BUT, At this point, do we really care ? Between them both, we are ripping every DVD that comes down the pike :D)

Burn on "Happy Camper", Burn on . . .
