Wur up people... i'm knew to this fourm, but been reading posts on ps2 backups for a while!

heres the Problem Solver... i got Swap magic 3.6 DVD & Compact CD, i backed up:
"Ready 2 Rumble Boxing Round 2 - CD" Worked Perfect
"Capcom VS Marvel 2 - CD" Worked Perfect
Bought 2 Imported Games "Japanese & American" both worked perfectly
"The Punsher - DVD" Worked & Currently Playing *Good Game*
And finally... "Driver 3 - DVD" it was brand new game, copied it the same way i copied the Punsher through Dvd-Decrypter but... it wont load up... i put it in, it spins and it just stays black.. i left it on for a good 5mins and it was the same...

So anyone know why this is? people said here the driver3 backed up well, so what could of been my problem? got a big hard drive, double layer compatible dvd burner and reader, and i burnt them at resonable speeds but yea...

if anyone got any info... please! PLEASE! let me know, cause i feel hurt that i wasted a Samsung 4.7GB DVD Blank!! lol

Peace, Freddy

I've read through this thread and noticed how much emphasis there is on burning at 2X. I just got swapmagic 3.6 and my fliptop last week and have since backed up about 5 games. They all seem to work fine so far, but I had burned them at 4x. Is there any need for me to worry about them freezing up halfway through the game or something like that?

Dont worry about it, people usually suggest no higher than 4x and as low as you can go, i burned a couple games and worked fine at 4x :)

danbooke or anyone, can you explain to me what you did to backup Shadow Hearts, Shadow Hearts Covenant, Dynasty Warriors 5 and Onimusha successfully step by step? Would a simple mode -> iso -> read then mode -> iso -> write work with these games in DVD Decryptor or do I need to do anything special like using IsoBuster + CdDvdGen + Iml2Iso together with Dvd Decryptor? Or if I need to use Nero software (and how do I do it with Nero)? Thanks.

hursty, can you show me how to backup Arc the lad:end of darkness? Do I need to patch the .iso image file with the dnas id from the original disc in order for the backup to work (even if I play offline)? What softwares do I need to use? Thanks.

Also what dvd media should I use for my v7 playstation NTSC USA? I'm having a hard time deciding whether to use dvd-r or dvd+r. I know my v7 ps2 can read both dvd-r and dvd+r but I heard dvd+r can be booktyped to dvd-rom to be the most compatible with all dvd player?

Yo, people... i still dont see enough information on how to backup games with bulit in network play...

Are all the games that have that function the same to backup? or each one requires different skills?

if any guides can be put down it would be highly appricated or pass ona link to another fourm where its mentioned!

Thanks yall, theres some neat online play games out there that i wish to get backed up but all i've seen in these fourms is that its quite tricky to back thoes games up!!

Thanks, Peace Freddy.

sorry to but but in danbooke I agree with what your saying about buring at 2x max and only using DVD Decrypter and Nero (i always use dvd decrypter) however the disks info you gave is wrong i have a flip top and swap magic and I made two copies of star wars 3 one on DVD-R and one on DVD+R guess which one it reads? the plus+r and the -r gets a red border althought i must admit the game on +r is a bit jumpy but still better than no read at all!

Sup peeps, i downloaded "charlie and the chocolate factory for PS2 (full DVD PAL) from "http://www.torrent'p'.com/"... aint i allowed to post this? i wouldn't no...anyways... the torrent was 888MB... once finished, opened and extracted the file inside was an ISO with the size of *4,548,032*... when rebulit, it shrank down to *1.17GB*

Now someone stated:
Quote:
open the image in isobuster, and on the left hand side,
select "session",...extract session1<image>,
>user data...tao/iso

this will give you a session1.tao image

rename the tao to iso,so it looks like this

session1.iso

then burn it,it will now load

Is that a possible working methode? if anyone else has any ideas they are all welcome... please dont ask me about my DVD media or the speeds im doing them at cause i know thats not the problem...

but the funny thing is, when i load it with swapmagic 3.6, if i press X it takes me back to the menu screen where it has the memory card and "reading disc" then the red screen comes saying insert ps2 disc"... if i press special boot [], it loads but wont go no further then a black screen...!

i have about 5cds on waste now.. since i started this backup business... i no its probably nothing compared to most of you here, but... its stressfull that you can't get it right the first time all the time!

hey y'all, i'm kinda new to this dvd backing up thing. i have however gotten a lot of help from the guru's here. thanx. with the help i got here, i was able to copy GTA san Andreas (using DVD decrypter) and a dvd burner. i also have a modded ps2. i have a problem though, after playing the game for about 3 weeks, it started freezing during the game and the ps2 started making funny snoozy noises. although the dvd has already developed a few scratches, i found this weird but its been like that ever since. i used an LG dvd-r disc to burn and i believed it was ideal. can someone tell me what's wrong. i burned the dvd at 4x speed. is it the media or what.....guru's hola at a brother please.....an answer would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, i'm kinda new to the PS2 backup scene aswell. I have copied my first game, Area 51, and i have also tried copying an older game, Summoner 2. The last tracks on the summoner 2 disc seem to be unreadable and now i have an iso with a few corrupt files in it. Is there any way of repairing the sles file in the main dir? Or do i need to replace it with the original?

yes,i would suspect its your media

if your ps2 can read DVD+R type disks ,then use those for this game, and burn this game at the slowst speed possible

only use media such as verbatims,TY'S,maxwell, ritek etc
el cheapo just wont do

XIII doesn't work with my Swap Magic 3.3 discs.

And on the first page it says it works. I've tried burning two copies and no sucess. Screen turns black when I boot the game.

Can anyone help? Will the game need to be rebuilded or what?
