I have USBExtreme and I have a hard drive to play my PS2 games. I downloaded games and used WinRAR to get a .ISO file. But the .ISO file is in WinRAR format and I am using DVD Decrypter to copy the game to a disc. Does anyone know how to copy the game directly to the hard drive? Please help!!

mount the iso and then copy to harddisk or use ISOBUSTER or APACHE2 which kan be found searching this forum

Yous guys definitly seem to be the guys i am looking for!!! I am having a hell of a time making ps2 backups. I have swap magic and slide tool have that figured out. I slide, swap,slide press x and.....NOTHING I get a red border which i read means bad burn. I am using Alcohol 120 i have a great burner i am told. I have tried using sony dvd-r, maxell dvd-r could this be prob or maybe something i have to do with alcohol the games i have tried so far are spiderman, Spyro year of dragon PLEASE HELP

u need Alcohol 120%, it creates a fake dvd drive which u kan use to "mount" images..if u d/l Alcohol 120% and read the read me that shud help go here Quote:

what games are you trying to backup? search thru the forum on how 2bak up ps2 games

you cant, no one can infact. if you have a hdd i think it can be backed up onto that. but it cant be backed up onto dvd5. check out the GT4 thread. cheers

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP
I have been trying to back up ps2 games. I have swap magic 2.0 dvd version cd 3.0 version with slide tool. I have tried burning with both Alcohol 120 and dvd decripter i have the slide tool which i am pretty sure i am using right but when i swap cd's it isn't reading them i have tried spyro crash tony hak none work i tried using sony dvd's maxell please help Very VERY VERY fustrated

Again here is my advice which you have yet to try.
Use Better Media
BURN AT 2X SPEED
If you are doing the steps right it HAS to be your media
or your burn speed.
Not all media works well with the ps2,or
you burnt your backups too fast.

The following list is in preference order. The best discs are near the top of the list.
Almost flawless burns with 95-100% reliable results:
MCC = Mitsubishi Chemicals = (-R)<-----------------VERBATIM MY CHOICE #1
TDKG02 = TDK Corp = (-R) ... be aware of unbranded fakes
TAIYOYUDEN or YUDEN = Taiyo Yuden = (-R)<--------------FUJIFILM (made in japan) MY CHOICE #2

Yeah, once again agreeing with Jizmak, also too check what version PS2 you are using, if it is an older one it may not be able to read some discs. I know that some older versions cannot read DVD+R discs, but they can read DVD-R discs just fine. I have also heard rumors of the new slim PS2 being unable to read -R discs as well...

Hey, i tried to copy xmen legends just using Alcohol 120 and it freezes at one stage and wont play movies. Any ideas on how to fix this. Thnaks

My copy of MC3 Dub Edition takes ages to load evry time.
I am using a slim ps2 with the infinity v1.38 chip. i burn with high qual DVD-R (TDK) at 4x. I tried burning it 3 times and all the same result. I used to have this problem b4 but when i switched to good media discs the problem stopped........until the greatest car modding game proved otherwise :(

Okay people I think that it may be time to take a refresher course in game burning 101. First, quit using 5000 different programs to burn your games with. I don't wanna hear this: I used Alcohol 120% for everything else and now on this game it is not working. That means your program doesn't work anymore! All my successful backups have been made with Nero or DVD Decrypter - DO NOT USE ANYTHING ELSE! Next, do you not understand the concept of burning at 2x max speed? This is CRITICAL in having successful PS2 backups. I don't care if you used to burn at 16x max and everything worked fine. Guess what? You've got 10 coasters now that prove otherwise! Third, stick with DVD-R discs not DVD+R, I have heard nothing but problems from people who use DVD+R discs, and I have used DVD-R discs for almost a year and not a single problem. While were on discs, do some research before you go out and spend moeny on the most expensive or the cheapest discs there are. There are websites all over the place that wil let you know what the best discs are for what format you are using them for, consoles, dvd players, etc... We are supposed to be smarter than this people.

burned tons of games , all with Alcohol 120 % , all DVD +r , all work great , use alcohol since its the best , even has playstation settings ,
So danbooke , u must be on crack...

HURSTY please help how did you manage to backup up Flatout?!?! ive had loads of problems and the coasters are mounting im using swap magic 3.3 and i have a ps2 slim ive tried burning on the following media
tdk dvd-r
sony dvd-r
and verbatim dvd+r
ive tried rebuilding the dvd and i dont think i did it wrong but still no joy

this is a bluumin nightmare. I've searched high and low, and then high again, and absolutely nowhere can I find the shadow of rome patch for the PAL version. Has anyone succesfully backed up this game?
Or are you all backing up the US version?
