I was making a back up copy of 2nd Season of SOAP, got through the first two discs and now it won't let me do any others. I get a "dvdshrink encountered an error and cannot continue, FAILED TO READ FILE "E:\" Data error (cyclic redundancy check) Does anyone know what this means or knows how to fix it? I can not seem to do ANY movies now! Please help!

And these are just from the past 30 days.
Are you "JUST" using DVD Shrink, or are you using DVD Decrypter as well? If not, you really should, it only takes a few minutes longer and it'll break through most problems.
Check the disc, make sure it's free of marks, scratches, blemishes. Then check what media you're using. Is it cheap, crappy stuff? Do these things, look at the links and then if you're still having the problems, we'll look a little deeper.

thanks for your advice. I have just been using dvdshrink. I just downloaded the DVD Decrypter and I am still getting errors. I don't know why it is doing this all of a sudden. I came straight from the store with the "Soap" 3 disc set. What do you mean by "check Media"? And what do you mean about "links"? I am getting confused.

The links being referred to are the http pages listed under Run a search. Click on these hyper links that have dealt with the CRC error.
These will explain the error to you. If it's the original you are copying I'm sure you'll find in ones of these links your best bet may be to return it for another copy.

What I mean is, what type of blank media are you using to copy your DVD's to? Is it Memorex, Sony, TDK, etc. Also, just because you tried to burn your DVD "right from the box", doesn't always mean that it's a problem with your burning program or media. There are those instances where you just happen to get a bad disc from the manufacturer.
