Amen. Cmmnsense, you have the right idea, but need to keep a healthy supply of chill pills handy.
As I'm sure the mods have told you, this is no place for vengeance, and I think it's quite obscene that we're shouting at each other over games consoles. Very sad. People who have lives must look in on this debate with awe at what 'geeks' we must look like!

Flip, true, you got me there. I forgot about that because I didn't feel it was much. Two or three everyday converstion curses, and an abbreviation. Most everything else besides those two occurences has been verbally stressed. After hundreds of posts it's too easy to forget, I can't remember reading a forum that has been this big.
Sammorris, people who look at this debate should appreciate all the propanganda that gets hammered out of it. Also, you can have a life and be on a forum like this, but your right people that do stumble on this probally get freaked out that someone has seen the inside of the magic devil, computer.
"Well that is up to the admins..." If me and Wvengence wouldn't have been here, it just would have been a 1000 post flamefest using majornelson.com and ign.com by the time the 360 came out. Having to start over bites, especially cause my old name was sweet.

Please don't be offended but I was kind of referring to cmmsense (i believe is now called "reasons?") and wvengence, merely because I could post at one time during the day, come back an hour later to discover four more posts by you two, make my post, come back a few hours later and discover yet more posts by you two. This much regularity must mean you're often at afterdawn, surely?

here, just to tell u the xbox 360 will beat the PS3, the xbox 360 will have MORE games just like the first xbox. See the PS2 never had original games, but the xbox has halo, halo 2, fable, doom 3, midtown madness 3 and so it goes, this list won't finish. Name more than 5 original games on PS2. (hint its not any gta games) . u bag off Plasystion fans, the Playstation will never ever beat the xbox. (maby in u'r dreams.)

Hotwheel, Morda8, davel1l, they are all the same. They jump into the forum without reading at least the most recent 5 pages. They just jump in like we haven't discussed anything yet and that we have never seen the xbox/majornelson propaganda graphs and reasoning. How can you blame someone if for coming down on them? Hey hotwheel, read this entire forum. The cell CPU is better than the xenon. And the xbox GPU looks better, but no one can really tell, because nVidia hasn't given us jack on thiers, besides a (amazing) 1.8 TFLOPs, 100 Billion shader ops, and ~51 billion dot prod per sec... rofl, those pictures don't even work!
I don't mean to start tarring xbox360 all fans with this brush, but have you noticed that most of the n00bs have looked in favour of the 360?
Initially I thought that it could be due to the fact they've been taken in by the misleading graphs out there, but I'm not so sure because, stereotype or not, most n00bs tend to scream out preference to one side, not just jump on the bandwagon that seems to go faster.
Anyone else noticed this? Or am I losing it in the current UK heatwave?

What you meant to say is "The Cell CPU looks better than the Xenon and the R500 looks better than the RSX..." Since we all know that we don't know anything about either, correct?
We can start up the debates again, but I thought we settled on we don't know anything about the console hardware and weren't going to use PC tech...
As for those of you that want to start throwing numbers around (on both sides), think on this. The Intel 3.2Ghz is (of course) 3.2Ghz. That means that it is faster than the AMD A64 2Ghz (by about 63%) which means it's better, right? Strange, but the slower AMD CPU seems to perform much better than the mentioned Intel CPU. That can't be, of course, because it's not as fast...
Numbers, gotta love em...

@ morda8, I can name more 5 original games. why cant I name a GTA game? 1. GT 1-4 2. GTA 3. God of War 4. Final Fantasy 5. Tekken 1-5. @ sammorris, I totally agree with the nOObs theory.

To Wvengence, I'm sure you've realised that it doesn't work that way. My 2165mhz Athlon 3000 will probably beat a celeron 3066mhz, and do it for three quarters of the price.
It's not just the clock speed that matters with processors, its the efficiency of the use of that clock.
A P4 3600 may have 3600mhz, but compare that with an AMD Athlon64 FX-57 with *only* 2800mhz, and the FX_57 will beat the intel hands down, though you'd need to be a millionaire and/or a fool to buy either.

In my whole life, I have never read so much nonsense spouted in a thread. I cannot believe the "my toy's better than your toy" attitude in this facile & futile debate. I have read through about 18 or so pages of peurile drivel. The end result been that several people got banned. (Flip, you have the patience of a saint!)
Is it me, or are there a lot of children on this forum now? I ask because it is only children that would have a debate rapidly decline into petty squabbling.
I haven't been here as often as before. Quite frankly I am glad. I was used to ADULTS talking & debating issues in a grown up manner. If this is the way people will try to argue points, forget it.
Just a little rant!
