my cousin says that his friend has got a software that allows him to speed up dvd shrink because it decrypts movies in like half an hour. he can't remember exactly what its called but it has the word "flash" in it.

I think he means flashing the DVD-RW drive with an updated firmware, in order for you to do this double check the make and model for your drive and download the appropriate firmware...try this site http://www.cdfreaks.com

Its definitely not the firmware, it was to do with speeding up the encrption process to half an hour
