I've got dvdshrink and anydvd. I succesfully backed up White Noise and Team America. But I went to make a copy of my backups for a friend, and I have to cut anydvd off. Or the disc won't even register. ANd even if I do that, When I try to read the disc it gives me the cyclic error. Any suggestions?

try a different brand of disc, slow your burn speed down, try another burning program.

Its not the disc. It plays fine on my dvd player. I just can't copy my copy. It won't read. I think I ripped it with shrink. but burned it with dvdsanta. I had the burn proof box checked. Could this be the problem.

It is still possible that it is the media you are using.

I have had a similar problem with a batch of memorex Cmags that i am finally finished using up.

The drive that did the burning should be able to see your disc fine. At least that was what happened with mine.

I used DVD Decrypter to copy off my copies-I ripped to HD and then reburned.

Low grade media does strange things, and does different things in different machines. Some play great, but can't be re-copied. Some play like crap but can be re-copied. Then there are some that are just fine all around.

Ok, I've tried this again and again. Three times now. Always the same thing. The movies that I'm getting this with are the following:
White Noise
Team America
National Treasure
Son of the Mask

I'm using AnyDVD with DVD Shrink. I can copy htem just fine. But when I go to copy my copies, it won't read them. I think the problem is in the extras. I'm gonna try just to copy the movie instead. Tell you later how it turns out.

Don't back up your copy, use your original. You do have your purchased original.

Well obviously I do. Otherwise I couldn't keep trying it. At this point its more of an exercise in problem solving. By talking it out maybe this can help others.

may i ask what media you are using, slather made a very good point in stating that it MIGHT be a media problem. if you are using low quality media (such as store branded or memorex brand) that could be the SOLE reason as to why you are having problems backing up your backups.

this is a very common problem that many associate with software, when in fact, it's because they are using low quality media to backup on to begin with~

check my sig. for suggestions as to what GOOD media is..this might just be the key to solving your problems of backing up your backups :)

I'm using Maxell 8x discs. Well, last night I turned off AnyDVD. Tried using dvd4fee and it worked fine. Made a copy of Team America. THen a copy from my copy. So, somehow the problem is in my AnyDVD program. At least thats what it seems to me.

glad to hear you have it worked out...i have read somewhere on here from a trusted member that AnyDVD has had some conflicts with decrypter and SOME times w/ shrink for him personally, just got to go with what works~ anyways, good luck for future backups for you~

I backed up my backup of Team America with no issues at all. Ripped to HD with DVDD then burned with DVDD...as always using GOOD media! (TY's).
