I recently recieved a pirate copy of we8le and when i tried to patch my game with reefurs patch but i cant get it to be recognised on my modded ps2! I used dvd decrypter to extract my iso from my pirate copy and ithen i used ppf-o-matic to apply the patche & fixes & then i tried to write it with dvd decrypter but when i insert the dvdr into my ps2 i get the please insert a ps2 disc message! Does anyone know why this is happening? I might try using magic iso! Does anyone have a tutorial for it? Also in iso magic what mode do u select when u are about to burn the image to a dvdr? Mode 1 or Mode 2/XA? also if you are using a blank dvdr 4x then does that mean that u have to set the write speed to 4x?

there now i used an original ps2 game (smackdown vs raw) on DVD Decrypter to burn the game but when i inserted it into my modded ps2 it said please insert a ps2 disc! what is wrong? I was having the same problem all day trying to burn an iso or we8:le from a pirate copy and i was told it wasnt working because i needed an original game disc to make a clean iso for it to work but i have now tried this and i got the exact same results! What can i do to solve this very annoying problem?

sounds like your mod doesnt work.has it ever worked?

im not sure how you are using the term

'pirate" but if you are referring to illegal kind of pirate then you should know people on this site dont condone that kind of activity and libel to give you some kind of warning.but i rather not know the details of how you get your games.

and by the way what kind of game is we8le?

Then i apologise if i have offended anyone! but i have even tried a real original copy of a ps2 game and my ps2 still doesn't recognise it! Well i know that my modded ps2 works with "pirate" copys so i thought it should work with the backups i made?

mods can be switched on and off.make sure your modchip is switched on.i made a direct copy of smackdown vs raw and it works fine.try getting at least one backup to play if you have others.

look it up on the web.just type the name of your mod in the search engine.most mods have a homepage so you can update it.or there might be a forum topic on it.usually you have to hold the reset button a few seconds after you turn on the ps2,but it differs sometimes.

no settings needed
reefur patch worked with me
if your PS2 cant read originals as your saying then your laser is definaltey needing replacement
do you even have a modchip or swap DVDs, cause bakced up games wont work on a NORMAL PS2

bad burns usually dont cause the game not to boot.unless you copied the game in the wrong format or file order which is hard to do with decrypter(almost impossible) since it only writes iso images.speed settings usually cause the game to freeze up or skip but it at least registers as a ps2 game.the problem is probably your modchip.either it is switched off or you installed it improperly.have you ever gotten a backup to play before with this modchip?

Does anyone know why the backups that i make are not recognised by my ps2 but a pirate copy is recognised? isn't a back up and a pirate copy the same thing? When using DVD Decrypter does it remove the protection on the games?

I might know more when i find out the name of my mod chip but if it works for a pirate copy then surely it mustn't have anything yto do with my mod chip? I have used both memorex and samsung dvd-r's! i am not sure if there is something wrong with my burner or not because i was able to easily make an option file for WE8LE onto a cdr using DVD Decrypter but i cant make games that will be recognised by my ps2? I have never tried burning the mds file because it is normally very small! I have converted an iso into a bin & cue file but i haven't tried it using DVD Decrypter or any other programs but i don't think it would make a difference! plz help if u can?

alright, you got your backup copy that someone else made for you(would you stop using the word pirate, somebody might think your doing something illegal!).

now,did you say that copy was a cdr?is it a ps2 cdr or ps1 cdr?
and what is this we8le game anyway?

WE8LE is Winning Eleven 8: Liveware evolution! it is basically Pro Evolution soccer 4.5! My Copy which works on my modded ps2 is on a 8x Datasafe 4.7gb DVD-R but the backups that i have tried making of this same game and many other games are not recognized by my ps2 when inserted! that is my problem!

okay none of this makes any sense.could you explain exactly how you used decrypter?
what version is your ps2 and what kind od dvdrs are you using(-r or +r)?
and put your copies you made in your computer and make sure all game files have been copied.

Ok i put in my copy of a game in my dvd-rom drive and a blank dvd-r in my dvd writer drive! I then go to mode-iso-read and then the mode-iso-write after that but i am having some problems burning with DVD Decrypter! I get certain error messages but i have managed to burn a couple of games with it but when i put them into my satin silver ps2 it doesn't recognise the disc! I have successfully burned with a few other programs like alcohol120% but still my ps2 doesn't recognise the disc!

put the copies in the computer and make sure they are the same size as the originals.

and what error messages are you getting.if you have error messages during the burn process that is very bad.after you read the iso to hd do you switch drives?decrypter lets you select drives to read fromand write to.if you read from dvdrom drive then you might have to manually select your writer when in write mode.

I have successfully nurnt games with alcohol and other programs including DVD Decrypter but still the games are not recognised by my ps21 it may be becasue of the quality of the dvd-r's i am using but does DVD Decrypter remove the protection on the ps2 game or do u have to crack it yourself?

hey man you are too antsy and you are assuming too much.never have i come across a brand of media that is that bad that the game wont at least boot up and maybe get you to a blank screen at the least instead of tne not valid ps2 screen.and you have done this with every copy except for the one someone else made for you.that copy was a dvd-r so you know your mod,ps2 and the fact you are using dvd-r(and not dvd+r) is not the problem.i dont see how the games couldnt work if they were burnt to the disc.thats why you should check them in the computer.all i can tell you is go ahead and get different media and see if that is the problem.no sense worrying about it just do it and find out if that is the problem.i dont think that is the problem but i could be wrong(strange things do happen)
