Backup AnyDVD with Shrink

I have invested a lot of money in my DVDs. It is my hobby and I go to Best Buy every Tuesday. Recently I was in an airport and one of my favorite DVD movies got destroyed (short story and no time to tell the tale here).

So, here it goes.. I have compiled this info to help others that wish to backup their own DVDs which we all know is a investment in its own.

Okay peoples'.. Here is the latest info on DVDs and why you may be having problems backing up your DVDs.

Sony (my favorite company because a friend of mine will only buy Sony..) has created new unreadable sectors (RE2 and LBB). DVDShrink has yet to be updated to get past these sectors, but DVD Decrypter (updated version) and AnyDVD (http://www.slysoft.com/en/anydvd.html) have found the light.

The only movies that have this technology as of today are newer Columbia Pictures releases, but more studios may come on-line shortly. Anyway, you can download the latest DVD Decrypter and read the ISO. Then load the ISO into your Nero ImageDrive and open DVDShrink and back it up that way.

Or a better way if you love DVDShrink:

Go and download AnyDVD and run it in the background while using your
DVDShrink. DVDShrink will no longer work with RE2 or LBB unless you are running AnyDVD. DVDShrink needs to bring out an update. Until then AnyDVD is needed.

Thats very good information you posted but you're about 6 months late with the news. As to a DVD Shrink update, that probably won't ever happen. Nero hijacked the author of Shrink and he now works for them. Thats why Nero Recode looks just like Shrink. Anyway glad you found programs that work for you. Good luck.

i recently downloaded AnyDVD and when i logged on my computer it says that i have 21 days left. i'm guessing this is only a trial program so is there a way i can download the full program?

The trial version of AnyDVD is the full version. It just expires in 21 days if not purchased.

LOL its funny when a newbie comes in and tells us something WE have know for SIX months .there are a few other programs you can try also xyzzyx that are better quality then DVD Shrink DVDClone2 or DVDCopy3 they both work very well with AnyDVD also.
