I haven't. I understand that the MCC Verbs are being made in a CMC plant, but to MCC standards. The only Verbs that I've gotten that were not MCC were CDs.

3 yrs ago I used Verbatim disks that are Ricohjpn ........ they are still good today and not bad..... but today they are even Better! MCC is great disks!!!!!

Creaky...... did you know that I found Verbatim disks at Best Buy that has VideoGuard!(supposed to be 40 times more scratch resistant than regular media!) Did you try these out?
it is still MCC but can it even be better.... LIFE TIME GUARANTEE???

Heh, so MCC Verbatim are being made in CMC plants but to MCC standards. So your saying that MCC can be making Verbs in CMC plants as long as it upholds its quality eh? That explains my 50 pack spool of Verb CD-R, Mitsubishi as manufacturer, but the media code is similar to those CD-R made by CMC as the manufacturer o_0; That videoguard looks interesting too :P, they should have it on all disc XD.

I'm sorry..... MCC is Mitsubishi Chemical Company........ CMC is a different manufacture! they are NOT the same! Verbatim is MCC ...... one of the best disks you can buy........ CMC is one of the worst you can buy! I haven't seen Verbatim DVD+Rs or DVD-Rs to be CMC..... have you??????

If MCC is making Verbatim in it's plants.... how could CMC make MCC????? CMC has it's own plants..... you mean that CMC bought out MCC????? what you said doesn't make sense!

CMC hasn't bought out MCC. I have no proof, but have read in several forums that CMC is making the MCC discs in Taiwan using MCC dye and equipment. They use the MCC code and are not the same thing as your run of the mill CMC. I read someplace that someone said they heard this from a Verbatim rep. Of course I could be wrong. I imagine Japanese companies would farm out their work overseas for the same reason American companies do-cheaper labor. Most large companies will do anything to save a nickle. They don't care if it puts most of their employees out of work as long as it's cheaper. Anything for the almighty dollar, or yen in this case.

Thats the problem with CD-R's and DVD-R's these days, if cheap people would just cease and stop having bad OEM's manufacturer their products (Memorex), then it would be a better world for us media people. Of course we would pay more to get media that will last, not pay and have media that will last you a good 3 months at most. Right now, I heard that 75% of media comes from Taiwan, and a good percentage of that media is made by CMC Magnetics, which is becoming more and more popular nowadays. Bottomline, get rid of CMC and have better OEM's manufacturer quality product that will last. I have living proof right in front of me, a Verbatim Data Life Plus burnt in 2001, its so unreadable it froze my computer just to trying to read the files on it. I think you can guess what manufacturer :P.

IHoe - that sounds good, the videoguard thing. As it happens i'd only just noticed how easy it is to scratch recordable DVDs. I'm normally very very careful handling them but this time i wasn't looking and saw how easily i'd scratched one. I was appalled at how easy it was to damage, as opposed to a pressed, original DVD. They are taking the p***, charging for something that should be in ALL discs as standard.

MCC is supposed to be better! I have some charts for you to see ....... Verbatim beats out Taiyo Yuden...... and I thought that TYs were good! I'm glad I just bought 100 8x Verbatims and 50 Sony disks that are YUDEN000T02~! that should keep me for a while!

Verbatim had a quality score of 99

Taiyo Yuden had a quality score of 95

what this means I don't know but The quality scores start at 100! so I guess Verbatim beat out Taiyo Yuden but just slightly! I use both with confidence!

Well, both are great brands, I have yet to try out Taiyo DVD+R and CD-R. I'm thinking about buying a 1100 pack spindle of CD-R TY from a site called "rima." I can get a 100 pack for 31.00 which I think is an outstanding deal, since places near me don't sell TY. Has anyone done business in buying TY from this site yet? Is it a legitimate seller of TY products? And is the packaging and shipping good, I don't need dented CD-R and packaging. Thanks.

Ok so I have been wondering, once again. People are saying Verbs and TY's DVD media to be one of the best. Any idea how long they will LAST? I think the minimum should be at least 5 years under proper conditions.
