herrick,
If you have that memory do not worry about it. I have 1 gig of ram on 1 machine and 2 gig of ram on another and have had no problems and it is not checked. Don't worry about it.
I use CleanMyPC registry cleaner and they have a free trial offer of the software. Suggest you d/l the registry cleaner from here:
http://www.registry-cleaner.net/
If you have registry problems that can also slow you down. The free trial offer will take you a while to clean up the registry but it is worth it. If you like it then you can buy it as the paid version is alot quicker. I suggest you try that or try another registry cleaner to clean up any registry conflicts you might have. Just google for Registry Cleaners. It is late and I'll check this thread in the a.m.

@Herrick, By process of elimination, Creaky is surely correct that Shrink's quality enhancements are what's slowing you down. DMA is enabled and you certainly have enough system there. You can disable Shrinks Quality Enhancements by ticking on the middle tab (quality) on the dialog box that pops up when you tick Backup (you have the latest Shrink, right?), uncheck both boxes and, just for a test, run a movie through that was previously slow and I'll wager that your time is cut by 2/3's.
However, without Deep Analysis Shrink is only making one pass and your video quality may suffer noticeably. Wouldn't run without it myself-well worth the time!
Great idea, Car.Mike!

As suggested, try a formerly slow movie and see if, upon ticking Backup then unchecking the Quality Enhancements, the speed is restored. Car.Mike's registry cleaner is a must for everyone, too.

herrick,
Below is the registry cleaner I use. It has a 21 day free trial but it allows you during the trial to only remove 2 items in each category each time. It will take you time to clean up the registry but it is free. If you like it then you can buy it

Herrick,
To do the different angles you would have to copy the whole DVD if I am not mistaken. Since I copy only the movie I have never tried doing different angles. But if I did I would use DVDRebuilder and CCE

miss understood- I would not do anything like that - only want reg. movies- thought i read somewhere that movies that have the ability to have the user be able change angle are harder to copy?- copied "liberty still stands " in the shrinkster, and in DVDxCOPY express and both came out fuzzy and almost digaltizeed but foggy-shrink w/ littlew better quility-not much- although movie was lighty scratched and hazed?

Hi Herrick, I ve the same problem you have with DVD Shrink... I ve not resolved it yet but I have seen that DVD Shrink begins a lot quicker when I close all the processes in the "task manager" which are not interested with "system" but with your "name", excuse me 4 my bad english language. Howhever I read every day this forum to look for a solution for my problem just like the yours.
