Final Fantasy 7 Remake?

The reason Square Soft turned into Square Enix is becuase of Spirits Within and Square Soft losing about $110 million becuase of it. This is copied and pasted from Wikipedia "Square was merged into Enix, another Japanese video game producer, in 2002 so as to curb development costs and become more competitive as a result of Square's major financial loss with Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. In April of 2003, the merger was completed, forming the new company, Square Enix". I dont know if this is true or not but I heard somewhere on the web that Enix have nothing to do with the development of Final Fantasy. Maybe somebody knows if this is true or not?

Well I got my 360 and hope all future final fantasy games come out for it. FF was just about the only reason I bought a ps2. I don?t think I will buy a PS3 unless they did remake FF7 and it was only on the ps3. In my opinion that is unlikely. We can say that Halo 3 will be xbox 360's big game. FF7 could be PS3's big Game.
If at first you don't succeed call it Version 1.0

I hope that they remake FF7. After seeing Advent Children I got FF7 for PSX, and began to play it on my PS2. The story was very good, but the graphics and lack of analog joystick support take some getting used to. A new version should allow many new fans to enjoy the excelent story of FF7 and I bet it would be a huge hit.

i keep readin stuff on net that they ent gonna remake FF7, do they really need to tho? you say graphics n lack of analogue but, it was amazin for its time...
FF12 graphics rule! how can they say they suck? weird..

FFX and X-2 are my favorites, but I would still buy a FF7 remake for PS3. Absolutely! But I'm in the minority as far as SE is concerned. American gamers don't spend like Japanese gamers do. SE makes MUCH more money off of Japan because they buy all of the mechandise for the game, international editions, etc.
And fot the people in this thread who insist Zack didn't die from gunshots, go reload disk three and go to the basement of the Shin-ra mansion. This game is almost 10 yrs old, now....geez.

I never said he didn't. I've seen the flashback and Last Order... but It woulda been cool if he lived threw it... also in AC the original buster sword is where Zack dies... I don't think that they would put something to remember him by where he "didn't die"

I have mixed feelings for "Last Order". I like the way it explains how Cloud and Zack end up in Hojo's basement in the first place. The game leaves that up to the player to deduce....there's no tie in scene of them being carried from the reactor to the basement. I don't like the changes they made to Zack's death. I think it takes away from how Cloud got his memories all scrambled because it's bad story telling. Troten is correct. Zack was killed where the buster sword is in AC, not in the back of the pick up truck on their way to Midgar. Shinra's henchmen left Cloud alone because they figured it would have been wasted bullets because he was already so sick. There was no one around to explain things to Cloud when he came to and found Zack, so the trauma screwed his memories up. In Last Order's version of the story, the truck driver would have been there to help Cloud out...which would undercut the game's storyline. Yeah, you can assume the Turks took him out too, but, in classic square form, they don't anticipate their audience's questions.
I write a lot, and I guess that makes me nitpicky. Every writer is taught to anticipate the questions of thier readers, and to answer them somewhere in the story. To not do so is very bad writing.

I have to agree with that. I have mix feelings about Last Order too. They changed alot of it from the game. Like how Zack "supposedly" died. The way Sephiroth just jumps into the reactor instead of Cloud knock him off the edge. Alot was changed so... ^_^

I think thats pretty cool StickManS that you can make games like that, i went to itt for game design and had to drop out because my cousin wanted to sell his house, i was living with him. Any ways about the FF7 remake, i was searching the net one night and came apon a bunch of petitions for the remake of ff7 i believe then one i sign had over 500,000 people sign it.
I think that they should over haul the graphics, make new materia, make extra side quests, and even for the people that loved the older version, they should make a unlockable feature so you can even play the older version, that way you get the best of both worlds, old game play with the new version of ff7. I know that i would buy it, even if it was more that $50.

my favorite ff games were ff9 and american ff3. i would really like to see ff3 brought to 3d. and i would really reaaaaaaaaly like ff9 to be remade in better detail. ff9 had a great story line and ranks high as mave fave ff of all time.
But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

I would love to help but... I havent been able to go to college yet and I was planning on going for graphic design and animation. More so the animation. Maybe you could give me some pointers or some information that will help. But I will help if I can.
